Troubling news for the defensive line depth today as NT Chris Neild will miss the year with a torn ACL.

Shanahan: Chris Neild tore the ACL in his left knee and is out for the year. No meniscus damage.

Neild was in a position battle with Chris Baker and Kedric Golston for the back-up defensive linemen spots, but seemed to be pretty likely to make the team. Early reports were that he looked stronger than last year, and would once again be the primary back-up at NT. While the Skins have some depth here, it still weakens them overall and will make things very precarious if any more injuries occur to the line.
