Kory Lichtensteiger: Licht is only 27 and he played pretty well last season before suffering a season ending knee injury. I think he will end up being are starting LG, but if he is having trouble bouncing back from the knee injury, and guys like Gettis, Hurt, and LeRibeus are performing well in training camp, the coaching staff may have a difficult decision on their hands.
Niles Paul: Everyone is very excited about his switch to TE, but there is a reason he was moved…he was not going to cut it as a WR. Now I understand Paul is young and has some upside, but if the Redskins decide to only carry 3 TEs, and Cooley is playing well, then Paul just might find himself out of a job. Shanny may decide that the 3rd TE should be more of a blocking TE, and although he is known as a good blocker, Paul’s 230 lb frame may not be what the coach is looking for.
Brandon Meriweather: This guy’s career is falling faster than Leron Landry’s, but many here have penciled him in as our starting SS. Does he still have talent I think so, but does he have the attitude and demeanor the Redskins are looking for as they rebuild…I’m not so sure.
Jammal Brown: Let me start by saying I think Brown will end up being the starting RT on opening day. However stranger things have happened. If the yoga did not work, is the Jammal Brown of 2010 and 2011 any better than Lee, Polumbus, or Smith? Probably…but again stranger things have happened.
Rob Jackson: While Jackson proved to be a reliable backup OLB during the last season, let’s not forget the ‘Skins released him twice before (once in ’09 and again in ’10) only to resign him later. It will be interesting to see if Jackson presence on the roster the last two years was due to his skill set or the lack of competition at the position. If he does not have a good camp then either Chris Wilson or Markus White might just end up taking his job.
