There's nothing that brings fans together like Wins.....okay the Redskins haven't done a lot of wining in recent years and it's the offseason anyway....so let me re-phrase:
There's nothing that brings fans together like the hatred shared for other teams. And it's official: the Philadelphia Eagles currently top my list of hated teams in the NFC East.
Sure I'm not fond of the Giants...they beat up on us for years, they have been a better-run organization for a long time, and they have been the most successful NFC East team for a long time now, and it's easy to hate whoever is at the top.
The Cowboys? What can you say? They are our mortal enemy, and I dislike everything about them, despite their 15+ year era of irrelevance (outside of their constant ESPN coverage).
But the Eagles have taken the cake (George Carlin would say "But why'd they take the cake? Why not a pie? A pie's easier to carry....Easy as Pie") for the following reasons:
1. Their blowhard fans who are loud and proud 24/7, and apparently amnesiatic, since they constantly forget that their team has never won a Super Bowl.
2. Their raping and pillaging of the Redskins Front Office in the Donovan McNabb trade.
3. The Monday Night Massacre: the low point in the Mike Shanahan era and an absolute drubbing by the Eagles that should be set out to be avenged by the Redskins every time they play the Eagles for the next 10 years.
4. The Dream Team.
5. The latest comments by Michael Vick, in which he states his belief that the Eagles can be an NFL Dynasty:
---The rational side of me wants the Redskins to have a great season, win 8+ games and compete for a playoff run. The irrational side of me wants the Redskins to save all of their points and great plays for the 2 games they have against the Eagles, to utterly destroy them, and finish 2-14.
---But if I combine both my rational and irrational thoughts, they coalesce into one point: There is no team I want to fail more than the Philadelphia Eagles. I hope their 'Dream Team" and their "Dynasty" turns into nothing short of a disaster, and that their championship drought continues until the end of time.
