In a recent article by football outsiders the Redskins O-line's run blocking was ranked 10th in the league and their pass protection was ranked 15th. These rankings were based purely on regular season performance. Meaning teams like New York who got hot in the playoffs aren't rated as high. The head of the pass blocking is Buffalo despite their large turnover ratio. The top of their run blocking is New Orleans (maybe b/c the fact that they seldom run the ball).
A lot of us may be surprised by this. Thinking that only before the rash of injuries our O-line was decent, but apparently through statistics like adjusted sack rate
which gives sacks (plus intentional grounding penalties) per pass attempt adjusted for down, distance, and opponent
the Redskins were good enough to claim a number 15 spot in pass protection.
