Thanks to Squigums for getting a fanshot out before we could get something up. But as you may/may not have heard, the Redskins released WR Jabar Gaffney today.

Jabar was an integral part of the Redskins passing offense, compiling 68 receptions, 948 yards, and 5 touchdowns. Including this awesome touchdown catch vs. Minnesota. Let's also not forget him making this cameraman leave his wife to explore other "interests" (Disclaimer: Cameraman/woman; Wife/Husband/Whatever)

This shouldn't come as too big of a surprise to fans. In a recent radio interview, Gaffney "leaked" that the Redskins were looking to trade him. That probably didn't bode well with Shanahan & Co (But who knows). What DEFINITELY didn't help, was Jabar's Twitter meltdown last month. A Twitter meltdown that included such gems as:

4-12 is my anniversary woke up and couldn’t find my soon 2 be ex wife anywhere. [bleep] dat [bleep] I can’t wait till its final in a few weeks

Don't forget this little nugget:

Ain’t nobody [bleeped] my wife but for anybody saying any slick [bleep] better watch ur girl and not let me get hold to her

The Redskins are quite full at the receiver position, undoubtedly due to the increase of roster sizes to 90, and now have one more slot for a more productive player. The combination of the signed WR's Pierre Garcon & Josh Morganshould make up the top two slots on the depth chart. Gaffney's spot is now vacant, leaving a wide open lane for a Hankerson dunk.
