Redskins Also Plan Multiple Visits With Andrew Luck

Building on reports from yesterday claiming the Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan plans to meet with Robert Griffin III a couple times a week up until the draft.

It’s now known that the Redskins plan multiple weekly on-campus meetings with Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III between now and the draft. PFT also has confirmed that the Redskins plan to do the same thing with Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck

As one league source explained it to PFT, the Redskins had no choice but to schedule visits with Luck. If it appears that the Redskins prefer Griffin over Luck (and we consistently have heard that the Redskins do), always-unpredictable Colts owner Jim Irsay could be nudged toward taking Griffin over Luck.

This supports NFL Networks Albert Breer's report from Friday that this is a part of the process and the Redskins will be visiting other colleges.

But late Friday, Redskins general manager Bruce Allen took it step further, saying that there is nothing unusual about the way the team is approaching Griffin, who is widely expected to be the second overall pick.

"No different than any of the previous years -- we send our coaches to college campus for player evaluations," Allen said in an email to NFL Network. "In the coming weeks, we will be visiting some other colleges."
