OK, I did finally remember what part III was: predictions. This actually is the part that is the most fun.
I was hoping Parks or someone would start an official pre-draft predictions post for RG3. If so, it will be a much better venue than this one. But time is running out pre-draft so I'll throw this out.
Since it's the internet and will be around for a while, I thought it would be fun to have a post where those who wanted to could bring in their year 1 RG3 predictions. This is a follow up to this and this. After the break, your chance to set into the inter webs your projections for RG3's rookie season.
A lot of the predictions have been the sort of X,000 yards, Y% completion, Z% TD, AA% INT type. Those make sense to project. However, if we are ever going to be able to look back and see who was the closest, we have to zero in on one # for comparison sake. For example if RG3 isn't starting right away or is hurt, QBR is probably the one (very imperfect) metric you can judge performance on. So here is my prediction, after tens of seconds of thoughtful analysis and reflection:
3,750 yards. 302 completions, 500 attempts, 21 TDs, 19 INTs. QB Rating: 81.8. Note that QBR does not account for rushing, so as a bonus I will throw in 3 rushing TDs, 450 yards.
Also just for fun, year 4 projections: QBR of 89.2 (somewhere between Big Ben and Matt Ryan).
Now is the chance to have your year 1 (and year 4 I guess) projections put into internet stone so you can come back and tell everyone else what idiots that they are/were.
21 HRS until Rex is not 1st string!!!! Exciting stuff.
