RG3 to the Redskins - part II of II

I can't remember why there were supposed to be 3 parts to this series. Probably I was drinking heavily or something. Anyway, the results and your thoughts below...this is a follow up to this post.

All right so that off-season Kool-aid is definitely working. 53% of respondents voted that RG3 will be an elite QB, defined in the original post as a QB rating of above 90. So the statistics:

-of the 44 QBs in the sample group, 5 (11%) achieved this level. One of those was drafted #1 (Peyton), and the others #4 (Rivers), #11 (Ben), #18 (Pennington), and #24 (Rodgers).

-of the players drafted in the top three picks every year, 1 of 20 reached this level (5%) - Peyton obviously.

-Clearly Redskins Nation is on board that this is a Peyton-like pick. It probably also explains why the Colts are taking a guy who has PM-like buzz around him...Anyway, that's exciting to see the enthusiasm, even if the odds aren't necessarily 100% behind us.

The overwhelming 2nd choice was 'franchise', defined in the post as 81-90, selected by 41%. Taking the top two categories, this means that 94% of fans believe that RG3 will be either franchise or elite. Here are the statistics on that one:

-of the 44 QBs, 12 meet this criterion. So 27%. This category includes Jay Cutler, Eli Manning, etc.

-of the players drafted in the top 3 picks, 6 of 20 (30%) achieved this level.

I haven't been a fan of the trade viewing it as too expensive, but it is done now. So at this point, great to see that Redskins Nation is totally on board and sees us getting a top guy. One of the reasons I do like the pick is that I hate the cannon, and...only 47 hrs left with Rex at #1 on the depth chart.
