Manning is making his rounds and hopes to have a decision by Monday according to numerous reports. So far it appears Denver, Arizona, and Miami are the places he has narrowed down his desire to play. Which has me, along with everyone else in Redskins nation thinking about what the ripple effect will be on QB market and also the price for the #2 pick St. Louis holds.
Manning to Denver: Tebow sits on the bench OR he gets traded, neither of which would have much impact on the Redskins. Impact = Little - None
Manning to Arizona: Kolb would most likely be out either via trade or being cut. Cleveland was interested in him before and would almost certainly be interested in him now. If Cleveland signed or traded for Kolb, then Flynn would be free for Seattle (their GM was there when Flynn was drafted) or Miami. My hope would be he goes to Seattle which would take them out of the hunt (they were probably at the bottom of the list any way being in the same division. That would leave Miami, who reports suggest would be reluctant to trade with St. Louis, and Tannehill could be a real option for them. The bidders for that pick would be reduced and the package any other team would be able to offer would be significantly less than the Redskins. Impact = SIGNIFICANT
Manning to Miami: Dolphins would be out of the hunt for a QB and that would free up Flynn for Seattle or Cleveland. I would imagine Cleveland would be more appealing for Flynn seeing as though that could sign two players at skill positions with their 1st round picks. Impact = Little - A Lot
In other words, Redskins fans should be care where Manning goes and should be pulling for Manning to Arizona. Whether you want to trade up, trade back, or pick up a FA QB, Manning to Arizona produces the best possible outcomes for the Redskins.
