I hear it every freaking week and okay I get it- If Mike posts ANOTHER poor season, he ‘should’ be fired…
But I don’t think he should. Hear me out. We’ve had 8 head coaches since ’92, that’s an average of 2.5 years per coach. THAT’S AWFUL. How in the world is the Redskins organization going to gain ANY sort of momentum with NONSTOP change?? Every franchise worth a damn has had stability, both in their front office and with their organizational direction.. WE NEED TO EMULATE THIS. When Mike took over, we had one of the oldest & least talented rosters in the league. Now many of our starters are under 28 years old. After this year’s draft/FA, we should have one of the best built rosters to make playoff runs for years to come. While in years past, we had to keep adding aging FA because our players were so old.
Now I know if we post another below .500 season, that’ll be 3 in a row and 3 strikes/you’re out. But if we, Redskins Nation, can give Shanny & co the full 5 years, I think we’ll be happy we did. At least I hope we’ll be. What’s the worst that could happen? Two more years like the last 20, I think the benefit outweighs the risk. What about you?
