Although the league has not officially announced that the Redskins got zero compensatory picks, they have announced the following:
Green Bay Packers recieved Two fourth-round picks and Two seventh-round picks (GB lost Daryn Colledge, Cullen Jenkins, Brandon Jackson, Jason Spitz)
Steelers recieveThree seventh-round picks (#240th, #246th, #248th picks overall).
It is the steelers picks that are notable for the skins. As we know the draft is 253 slots. I have seen in many places that the Redskins signed more FA's than they lost (signed Wilson, Bowen, Otogwe) and lost (Andre Carter, Selvish Capers) meaning they are not eligible to recieve picks for a net loss of FA's. The only chance they had was to get one of the picks the league hands out after the net loss FA picks have been given out; they then hand out picks up to 253 in decsending draft order. That Steelers pick (248) means that at most there are 5 picks that could be given out in order of worst record. Unfortunately we are 6th.
I know this is antecdotal, and I'm biased because I'm a Skins fan but the league really seems to hate us. This year there is a reasonable arguement that we did not deserve compensatory picks, but in years past we have absoloutely gotten the shaft from the secret formula.
2012- 0
2011- 7th rnd pick 252
2010- 0
2009- 7th rnd 243
2008- 3rd rnd 96 and 2 7ths
And the league LOVES the Steelers and Packers. And the Ravens got a gaggle of compensatory picks over the same time.
