Could RG3 go #1 overall to the Colts?

I have had this feeling in my gut since the Friday night a few weeks ago when I got back from the bars to the news that the Skins had traded up for the #2 pick in the Draft. After about 10 minutes of exuberant celebrations and wiping my eyes trying to comprehend what our team had just done, I heard that people were already proclaiming RG3 to the Skins....my immediate reaction was "SHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"

As RG3 shot up the draft boards and the media fawned over his personality, character, size, speed, and arm strength....my gut started to tell me what my mind was reluctant to acknowledge....RG3 is going #1. It appears that I am not the only one. Check our Merrill Hodge campaigning for RG3 on ESPN:

Hodge has been firmly on the RG3 bandwagon for some time, but he is now very vocal about his opinion that the Colts shouldn't spend more than "half a heartbeat" on the decision to draft RG3 #1 overall. According to Hodge, after watching 120 hours of film on each QB, he gives the nod to RG3 in 90% of the measurables for QBs going into the draft......90%!

Unfortunately, I also think that the media hype along with the fan hype for RG3 may have gotten us to this point, at least somewhat. We Redskins fans have loudly and excitedly assumed RG3 would wear the B&G next year. We did not hold back our outpouring of lust for his speed and deep ball accuracy. We have had doe eyes for this kid and his character and personality since before we traded up. So, my gut continues to prepare me for what i inevitably sense will happen. RG3 to the Colts.....Luck to the Skins.

If anything, today's Pro Day will only accelerate this hype.

While I have to admit I personally have fallen in love with the idea of drafting RG3, I can't think of a much better silver lining than winding up with Andrew Luck as a "consolation" prize!!!!!
