GOING NUCLEAR: Look for Redskins to sign a player to go over the Cap to put NFL in a bad, bad position

Funny thing happened. Giants Owner John Mara made sure his Giants got a competitive advantage over 2 of his divisional rivals, Redskins and Cowboys, for the next 2 years. The NFL's Management's Executive Committee (or something like that) comprised of different owners led by the Giant's Mara came up with a great way to punish the Redskins and Cowboys for taking advantage of the uncapped 2010 season. They did the end around by not putting it to a vote by all the owners or getting the NFLPA without a vote of the players to approve docking $36million from the Redskins and $10million from the Cowboys .

Why wouldn't the NFL bring it to a full vote of the owners? Fat chance it would have passed with the Owners knowing that doing this would prove Collussion. Besides 4 of the teams UNDERSPENT. Why wouldn't the NFLPA bring it to a vote by the players? I don't think it would have passed either because the players that are benefitting from the settlement are not the ones that were Colluded against (2010 Free Agents should have split the new found money).

As of today, from what I understand, there is nothing written. Everything is verbal. Old School. Word of Mouth.

The NFL is hoping that Dan will be a good little boy and take his punishment and walk away.

According to Pro Football Talk that ain't going to happen. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/17/redskins-cowboys-could-go-nuclear-over-cap-mess/

First step is to get something in writing. The only way to accomplish this is to purposely go over the new cap limit after the penalty. This will force the NFL to reject it and thus will provide the written proof that the NFL did collude against the Free Agent Players back in 2010.

We still need a Right Tackle, a Guard and a Middle Linebacker. I expect signing both linemen and then signing London Fletcher to a contract that will take them over the limit. The NFL will be in a very big predicament. Do they reject the contract and give the Redskins ammunition for a lawsuit, or do they do the sensible business decision (IMO) and just pretend that this whole thing never happened.

We can let everyone know by word of mouth.
