Does it seem to anyone else that as soon as a player inks his contract, most people think the team overpaid? Granted, a lot of these contracts are for future production and you have no idea if the player will live up to that value. But what is "overpaying"? From Garcon/Morgans career production they are making more money than they ever have. Some would say this is the definition of overpaying. But the flip side is that they are signed to contracts, that if productive, are very friendly to the Redskins. Garcon/Morgan/Royal (if he ever inks) have the age/upside that "prized" FAs do not. Take Megatron for example, is he really worth just under $2 million a touchdown? Or Vjax at 6 yrs 55 million? Huge risk that will only pay off with HUGE production. A big Andre the Giant sized risk. After taking some time, I’ve decided that I LOVE the contracts/players we’ve signed thus far. They have the playmaking ability, youth, and upside most players signed by this team have been lacking. And if they don’t pan out? At least we don’t have $132 million tied up in 1 player.
