The Robert Griffin III trade will become official tomorrow. And for the first time in my life the Redskins will be stable at Quarterback (hopefully, I also thought this when we got JC). So now its time to look into free agency and the draft. The list of players we need is still long, but not as long as some may believe.
Priority 1: QB...Status: Filled
Priority 2: LG/RT...Status: Open
Priority 3: WR...Status: Open
Priority 1: CB...Status: Open
Priority 2: SS...Status: Open
Priority 3: ILB...Status: Pending
The offense takes precedent in this coming season and we've made our move to secure the most important position on the field. Spending these draft picks on Griffin indicates he's the day 1 starter (if ready), so we obviously need to protect him. There are many ways we can fill our holes in the offensive line. We can take Guards Grubbs / Nicks out of the Free Agent Market or we can pursue. In my opinion we absolutely need one, the draft can change in many ways moving us out of contention for a starting guard. Mike and Kyle may be fine with a starting line of, Williams, Grubbs, Monty, Chester, Brown/Smith.
Then comes WR...we need one but V-Jax is to much of a head case and bringing in a number 1 means were getting rid of Santana or Jabar or moving Hankerson back down the depth chart. I for one want hank to be our #2 WR by game 4 this season. What I see happening though is the release of Jabar (I know but hear me out) Jabar isn't as quick as Santana and less valuable in the slot. I think we bring in Manningham (division rival) have him be our #1 have Hankerson as our number 2 and Santana be the slot guy. However slot guys can be number 1s look no further than New England for that example. Then I see us drafting another burner over 6'2 in the draft. Any suggestions on guys like that would be great.
