Don't worry.

How has he not been suspended for steroid use?

Granted, I know that basically never happens in the NFL but c’mon…

Because it's 1990 and athletes don't use steroids anymore.

Anybody remember David Boston? Boston meet Landry, Landry meet Boston.

I don't buy that he did all that muscle building by himself.

He looks like Ronnie from Jersey Shore… and Ronnie is a total juicehead (in their words).

Really?

I asked if Laron was the master of avoiding steroid tests. Then I went to another thread, came back and it was gone. Maybe it was just one of those funky glitches. My apologies if I made an incorrect assunption.

Well that's very impressive...

..but has anyone told him that maybe his obsession with working out is impeding the healing process with his Achilles?

Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

by CJHutch on Feb 23, 2012 2:29 PM EST up reply actions

It is photoshopped

I have seen this picture on several websites already. At least one website, the bleacher report, has two pictures of LaRon. One picture is the one posted above with no tatoo on his right arm and the other is a similar picture, actually of LaRon, with his tatoo in place. This guy loves his ink. Ink just doesn’t magically appear and disappear at will.

by Fred Dudley on Feb 25, 2012 12:49 AM EST up reply actions

Surely that's too big for a safety?

Maybe he wants to move to linebacker. I don’t know if it’s just the way it looks in the picture, but he look WAY too big for a safety.

Dude was still running a 4.4- 4.5 at that size

plus he a SS so he in the box a lot especially when Haslett got here

When exactly

Did he last run a 4.4? Or even 4.5?

I am talking about when he was last healthy

he was running 4.4, of course you cant run that with a bad achilles. but he was still the same size when he was playing lights out beginning of 2010.

by iH8dallas on Feb 23, 2012 12:48 PM EST reply actions

My opinion exactly

The guy is still fast and he plays his best close to the line. They should at least try him their and play him to his strengths. Urlacher was a safety in college; LaRon could easily make the transition. Especially with help from LFB.

good point

i have thought to myself that ever since Brandon Jacobs posterized him, that has become addicted to working out and inflating his muscles like he has been….

everyone is addicted to somthing, i guess

Let him walk, he can then go compete in Mr. Universe and Olympia body building contests.

Considering his achilles is still plaguing him there is no way he’s been able to put the same effort into his lower body. We don’t need a bulldog (all upper body) playing SS.

Gotta be losing it. Last thing we need is a SS that can’t tackle AND catch a ball or break up a play.

Could really be too much

Ive read about some athletes whose muscles get so overdeveloped that they actually put too much strain on all their ligaments and tendons and stuff. Being a football player, his upper body couldnt be that big without also getting his lower body that much stronger/bigger. I think its entirely possible that his excessive muscle building could actually be holding back his recovery

by Brutus89 on Feb 23, 2012 3:20 PM EST reply actions

I mean it’s like this all the time with this guy.. But yet he is injured prone. Does that make sense? How can a guy like that be hurt…? I think a One Year deal for 3.5 million would be worth the risk… Agreed?

by rdsknfn121 on Feb 23, 2012 3:30 PM EST reply actions

So...

The guy plays 3 seasons and misses only one game with an injury (at FS = not his natural position)

Plays at a Pro Bowl when back at SS from the first game up to @week 10 of the season when he injured his achilles to which On December 15, 2011, Coach Mike Shanahan stated that he believed Landry “would’ve been defensive player of the year” for the 2010 season had he not been injured.

Then does not have the benefit of working with training staff in the off season due to the lockout before being “rushed” back by the training/coaching staff once the season started, subsequently staining his hamstring.

Next up In Week 12 against the Seattle Seahawks, after receiving a cut block, Landry left the game for a quarter before coming back into the game and playing with a groin injury in Week 12. Then he missed the next two games before being placed on the IR due to his achillies acting up again (which means he probably was dealing with that same injury from the beginning of the season.

One of the recurring themes in the injury reports this preseason is the Achilles tendon injury. So far 10 players have either ruptured or injured their Achilles tendon. While injuries were expected to be more frequent this season due to the NFL lockout, no one expected this many Achilles injuries.

How does this equal “injury prone.” I’m so confused. The injury that probably never fully healed from last year was re-injured in the same way those 10 players ruptured their achillies and now he is injury prone? If an when he is healed, or should I say when he was last at full strength he was playing at Defensive Player of the Year level (as assessed by his head coach).

Some folks have extremely short memories jump to all types of conclusions, yeah he has his flaws, but geez…“injury prone?” SMH

At first I thought this picture was a photoshop fake due to the missing arm tat...

I saw this pic on an article in yahoo talking about the Landry pic described above. But upon further inspection, this picture was into a mirror, and so his arm that appears in the original picture is the non-tatted one anyway…

by preppiejack on Feb 23, 2012 9:50 PM EST reply actions

Regardless, it takes a special kind of douche to take mirror pics and tweet em...

For what it’s worth, I’ve heard from some Redskin groupies that you won’t have to worry about him tweeting any NSFW photos. Lil Landry is apparently very little. IH8 will be very disappointed.

I remember

seeing similar pictures of Landry looking super jacked before the season and getting excited about what kind of season he would have. The truth is that with all that bulk and muscle mass comes a decrease in range of motion, quickness, and agility and flexibility. I think his obsession with being huge probably plays a big part in his injuries never healing. Laron, PUT DOWN THE DUMBBELLS AND TAKE A YOGA CLASS!

by samthemantis on Feb 24, 2012 3:38 AM EST reply actions

concerns

don’t know if the body or…supplements…have given him the ankle problem or it is just his body. Doesn’t matter. Chronic achilles tendon is a big limiter and means a rupture could occur as well. That is just the biggest issue.

I have some concerns about his…PED use. I don’t care about the morality and I honestly think most of the league is using (remember Santana’s special doctor?) But I see some aspects of his personality which are indicative of an effect of overuse of test (which is the most convenient PED and fastest to rid your system before piss quizzes). I am concerned that it could be leading him to not make the best choices in terms of interaction with the team, his doctors, etc. there really is a pesonality effect of hormones. Just look at how women cycle. You overindulge in PEDs and it can affect your personality. Brain is physical too…and responds to the chemicals floating around.

Other than that, I like his play overall.
