Interesting read from that scout’s take that Tannehill is the best fit for Shanny over RG3. I don’t think it’s safe to assume he’ll go late 1st round though. Look at how much average QBs like Gabbert, Ponder, and Locker shot up draft boards last year. So many teams don’t have a franchise QB. If Skins trade back and draft 14th or later, I don’t think it’s a lock we wait for him. Take him at 6 if you’re that confident in him.

Chris Wienke was talking about Tannehill yesterday and one thing that stood out to me is that Wienke said he wasn't a vocal leader
I’m wondering if this is something we definitely need since there is no clear cut leader on the offensive side of the ball? The top three QBs are certainly leaders but I don’t consider Luck, RG3, or Tannehill to be “vocal” leaders.

Luck definitely its
I noticed that when he was in the huddle or on the sidelines, now lockeroom may be a different story.

Vocal leader
I think that crap is highly overrated. Eli Manning isn’t vocal but if you move in the pocket, convert 3rd downs wilst taking shots from the defense, then your teammates will follow you.

He’s extremely vocal. On and off the field (locker room).

Last year's draft was unique in that
the draft was before Free Agency. Some of those average QBs you mentioned could of gone later if the draft was after FA.
I still have hope that Tannehill can be drafted in the 2nd round, where we should get him.
HomerMcFanboy article
Ive been on the RG3 bandwagon since it began but that article might’ve swayed me to the Tanniehill groupies. Can you imagine that Skins go into draft thinking Tanniehill & RG3 falls to them?
IF Browns & Miami go FA for QB who else is jumping up for a QB in the draft?

If you list the teams needing QB’s by draft position, you get 6 major players out of the first 15 draft picks.
Cleveland Browns
Washington Redskins
Miami Dolphins
Kansas City Chiefs
Seattle Seahawks
Philadelphia Eagles
Not sure about that list
1) Philly isn’t in need plus they’re still grooming Kafka
2) KC is still invested in Cassel
The rest of your teams on the list I agree w/ but remember 2 of those should get crossed off w/ Flynn & Manning being signed in FA. One possible wildcard team might be Arizona.

Only three teams will likely go into this draft "needing a QB. Philly and KC are fine, and someone is going to get Flynn.
Cleveland Browns
Washington Redskins
Miami Dolphins
Kansas City Chiefs
Seattle Seahawks
Philadelphia Eagles
If KC isn’t content with Cassel (which I think Crennel is) then wouldn’t option B be Orton? Philly? Come on… not in the 1st.

Orton
Im fairly certain he’s a FA & KC isn’t going to spend the $ to keep him. His replacement to push/ compete w/ Cassel might be a rookie QB but I wouldn’t think it’d be Tanniehill or someone of that talent.
It’s going to come down to FA class brought in vs asking price to move up (should they like RG3 talents as it pertains to our scheme) que Parks dead horse GIF

Bassed on Fans alone, which I think makes a pretty good argument below.
From Arrowhead Pride "As much as I would like to see Kyle Orton return as a starting QB, I would be shocked if Pioli resigns him. Orton made an impact when chiefs beat the “undefeated” Green Bay Packers in week 15. With only a week for Crennel to manage the whole team, he somehow pulled of the upset of the season. Orton is a great QB and given time, could take us to the playoffs. Regardless of how bad the Chiefs might want him, he most likely won’t see another game in a Chiefs uniform. Orton made it clear he wants a guaranteed starting position at QB. Judging by how much Pioli loves Cassel, I can’t see any of the “competition” beating Cassel to the starting QB spot."
So KC needs a QB to develop or at least a good #2.
From BGN: "The problems with Vick are obvious, even to his supporters. He’ll be 32 when the season starts and he has durability concerns. Playing wise, he is susceptible to turnovers (18 in 2011), has trouble reading the blitz, and isn’t extremely accurate, hovering around 60% consistently. Some would say its hard to see Vick winning a Super Bowl, and the fact that he hasn’t won a playoff game since 2004 is also alarming. But I tend to subscribe to the belief that if Vick is on a roll headed into the playoffs that he can get it done.
The issue lies in the fact that he is on the wrong side of 30, and has had a substantial injury history (concussions and ribs being particularly alarming). Additionally I don’t see Mike Kafka realistically being able to step into a big game if Vick is hurt and play like a starting QB."
So the fans want Tannehill, who knows what the FO wants?
How do we know that Pioli doesn't think Stanzi is already that guy?

Pioli hasn't said anything one way or the other
but Stanzi didn’t get much of a chance last year even when Cassel was hurt and Palko stunk. Maybe Pioli didn’t want to throw him to the wolves?
very good points
as a Chiefs fan (they’re my #2 team) I think that Pioli will bring in some competition for Cassel but that Cassel is by default the #1 QB going into camp. If Orton wants to be guarenteed a starting position he might not be playing for anyone and most certainly not the Chiefs.
I hope the Eagles stick with Vick as I think he isn’t very durable and I don’t think he can win the big games because he can’t handle blitzes.
No such thing as a #2 team

Well that's a tad judgmental, isn't it?
He’s still a Redskins fan. My backup team is the Packers. I’d never root for them over the Redskins, but since the Packers are a perennially good team as of late, I root for them over anyone else in the playoffs. What’s wrong with that philosophy?

Everything. And you just defined a bandwagon fan.

Really?
Having a team to look forward to in the playoffs is a bandwagon fan? Don’t you root for certain teams when the Redskins are long out of contention?

"Since they are perrennially good team as of late" implies you didn't like them when they were bad
So yea…really

...did I imply that?
Frankly, that wasn’t my intention. I’ve always liked the Packers. And now they’re in the playoffs more often than not. That just means I have someone to root for because the Redskins are so bad. To me, that seems pretty damn harmless.

Offensive Line ratings
“Run Rank 30th, Pass Rank 29th” so basically they sucked. Even if the OL play improved at the end of the season how far up did they really move? Maybe up to a whopping 25th or even 20th?
We still need to upgrade RT and OG!
Having Beck and Grossman as your QB will kill any OLine rankings. Packers and Giants won Super Bowls with 31st ranked OLs.

only with elite QBS
seen any of those in Burgundy and Gold recently….as in the last 2 decades? Me neither!
That article from Homer M - citing Matt Waldman
was really interesting. Sure makes me hope that Mike takes Tannehill. Essentially, he is on a par with Luck and RG3, but should be much cheaper.

Considering I'm doing to a foreign country where security is a major problem, I doubt it.
Plus, body armor is the kinda thing that European TSA checkers like to steal… it’’s fucking awesome.

Don't believe scare stories. Tel Aviv (and Israel generally) is a very safe place
I lived there three years, no problems. Very little crime, and a tiny risk of terrorism. A very nice place.
No, I don't
But I’m saying that out of any old country they’re probably most worried about security threats.

Thanks for bring up the bad dream known as Dana Stubblefield...
while you’re at it, why don’t you give us paper cuts and pour lemon juice all over them.
How could a guy like that play so good in SF, play like pre-Albert here, then play good again wherever he went (I forgot where he ended up)? This was definitely a nightmare signing. At least Dan Wilkinson played decently, as did Sean Gilbert.
