Randy Moss anyone? anyone? Bueller? and more...

Assuming that the Redskins trade up and get RG3 and lose a draft pick or two, we are still hurting at WR. What do we do? Trade for Colston? My guess is the Saints will do whatever they can within reason to keep him. I think Manningham is in the same boat. I am sure by now everyone has heard Randy Moss wants to make a come back and supposedly there are a "few" teams interested, will one of those teams be the Skins?

Star-divide

I struggle with this because of all of the drama that comes along with him and the well known fact that he is pretty lazy BUT i read recently in an article (don't remember where) that he was clocked running a 4.3 40. That just seems crazy fast for an old geezer in his 30's, if this is true should we be interested? like most fans, i am over buying old vets and hoping we can plug them in, i think getting younger is the only hope we have of winning the big one again. However, I do think it is pretty obvious that we need someone else with some raw speed at WR and my guess is there is not as many teams interested as Moss and his agent want us all to believe, is it worth pulling the trigger on a one year deal and see what he can do? My guess is he can be bought for cheap and if we trade up those would be the only reasons i would even consider it.

Now on to Jim Haslett and the incident with rodskins. I am not going to say i don't believe rodskins but i do find it hard to believe that Jim would be stupid enough to talk at length about the things that Redskins country wants to hear to some guy he met at a volleyball tournament. That being said, assuming that conversation was true i am on the fence with Flynn even though Jim said they were not interested. He did have a good supporting cast but it is hard ignore 480 yards, Stafford had a lot of yards that game too though. I am on the fence about Peyton also, ultimately i don't think it is the best idea but you cant deny who Peyton is and what he can do. I remember a game a few years ago (i think they played Oakland) where the colts literally had the ball for like 4 minutes the entire game and won it, it was all Peyton. Again, like my thoughts on Randy if the price is right and the deal is short at the very least he can mentor our future QB and we can cross our fingers.

All of that being said, i hope we trade up for RG3, i hear all this talk about Tannehill but my biggest issue with him is he is missing the combine because of foot surgery, to me that is a red flag, are we going to have another Landry on our hands? If RG3 is not an option i am hoping some QB's really shine in the combine so we could stay where we are or trade down. We all have to remember that even if for some strange reason we dont get RG3, Tannehill or Weeden, Tom Brady was the 199th pick over all. Just saying.

What about RB? I like Helu and Royster (Helu more than Royster) and where they are headed but is Hightower a keeper? I mainly have health concerns with him and last season i never really saw the great RB we all hoped for. He had some good games but i never really saw the explosiveness we expected or need on offense. I think we should start looking at David Wilson from Va Tech, he is very explosive and i think he could be a great RB for us, he might be gone by time we have a chance to take him though.

I can’t imagine a scenerio were shanny would bring in Moss. He is old and a headcase. The last thing RGIII or Tannehill would need is some veterean yelling at thim for not getting him the ball enough

Yeah, that's what this high character youth movement needs

An old, lazy WR trying to make some extra money because he blew it all on hookers and weed. I’ll pass thanks.

no thanks to moss

we need people who are going to play everydown not only when he wants to he would be a terrible role model for hank and paul

I hope we trade for rg3 at a reasonable price as i have said and recently todd mcshay said the same with the new rookie pay scale the trade value will be lower teams are not trading multiple 1st round picks for a player you can only sign for 4 years

running back they all have injury concernsI would be fine with trading back and picking up richardson later it would be great value as hes like the 3-5 best prospect this year

I like when people say, “i’m against signing an old has been, BUT this time we should”

same is said of Peyton

same was said for McNabb

I'm not nearly as concerned with his age as his attitude.

Here is something proponents of Randy Moss will say:

“He’s a dominant player when he wants to be.”

You know who else people said that about? Fat Albert. We all see how that turned out. If you want to take plays off when you are being paid millions to play a game for a living, I don’t want you within 50 miles of the Redskins.

that's very true

I think that kind of attitude spreads in the locker room no matter what the coaches do.

The last three fanposts seem like a conversation some desperate fans to himself

Do the Redskins go after Brandon Carr? What about Steve Johnson? Randy Moss? Anyone? ANYONE?!?

Hightower

You give up to easy.remember when the skins got a rb by the name of John Riggins fron the Jets? They said he was over the hill,to slow and look what happened.became a SB back.Im not out on Hightower.I think he has a lot left in the tank.HTTR

Hightower is 25/26. Randy Moss is 34 without a lot of treat left on his tires, I don't see the comparison

Moreover, what Moss was great at (if not the best ever) was burning down the sidelines, getting separation with his speed and battling for the ball. At 34, he may not have the burst that made him an elite receiver.

No on Moss

but don’t lump him with Manning and McNabb. Peyton is a driven workaholic who would not play if he could not do so at a very high level. And Donovan still had the talent, but was not willing to pay the price to be great anymore – something the Skins could not have known.

We dont need another fat albert on our team.

Grant it moss can play and play hard and score but he wants to be on a team that he knows is going to the playoffs and has the best chance to win a super bowl . He wanted really bad back on with the patriots up here but they only wanted to give him a 1 year contract and thats why he got mad and wanted to be traded , then after that tantrum he wanted to come back to the patriots because he knew he screwed up after going to them other teams .Then after he threw a tantrum when he came back to play the patriots he caused a ruckess over a caterer saying the food was slop and so on and after those outbursts i think thats why the patriots didnt want him back . The only way the patriots would take him back at all would be because of tom brady which i dont see that at all . But as far as us he is a good reciever but he is like cancer and if we got him the cancer will slowly eat away at our team and thats not what we need for this team . We need people with character on our team like RG3 who will take charge and lead our team getting randy moss would destroy that chemistry .

I want him...

like I want hemorrhoids

or

like I want Albert Haynesworthless back…

No on Randy. The Skins have determined that character counts and are proceeding accordingly. It is about time! We are through signing me first, way past their prime, prima donnas.

by Ilikesonny on Feb 21, 2012 8:26 PM EST reply actions

no, because of attitude

I’m fine with getting a year out of an old vet. Does not need to be only youth (that is stupid, too much parity around, need to shoot to win). But the problem is the guy’s attitude. Same issue with Portis or I would bring him back.

Do it

Then sign Sinorice and have a starting 3 of Moss, Moss and Moss. what could go wrong?

by PJ_21 on Feb 22, 2012 10:53 AM EST reply actions

cancer

Keep the cancer type players off the team. We are moving in the right direction without the cry baby thugs on our team.
