My take on the 2012 draft.

So there are obviously a lot of options for the Skins this year, and options are a good thing. Hopefully all of these options will lead to the right pieces of the puzzle for a future dynasty. I am going to try to lay out what I think would be a winning recipe for this draft. I am almost positive we will either be trading up for RG3 or trading down to add an extra pick or two. I don't think we have has much ammo to trade up as Cleveland, also I doubt Shanallen will pull the trigger on giving up what it would cost to do so.

So I think we trade down with someone like Chicago so they can take Blackmon. We get the 19th pick and Chicago's third round pick at 80 overall, and maybe a 6 for next year. Here is what I think might take place after that.

Round 1 Pick 19 Peter Konz C Wisconsin. This is not a sexy pick, but it strengthens the team from the inside out and gives us a starter hopefully for the next 10 years on our line.

Round 2 Pick 39 Stephon Gilmore CB South Carolina. Gilmore could come in as a rookie and be our starting nickle back, he could also return kicks, and do it very well.

Round 3 Pick 70 Levy Adcock T/G Oklahoma St. Adcock. could be a starter at RT or at G giving us depth and options.

Round 3 Pick 80 from Chicago Russell Wilson QB Wisconsin. I am assuming at this point that we knew we couldn't trade up for RG3 and we went out and signed Manning or Flynn. Wilson has as much of a chance to be the QB of the future as Tannehill, Foles, and Osweiler but by taking him in the 3rd round we get much better value.

Round 4 Pick 103 Emannuel Acho ILB Texas. He has ideal speed and size for the MLB position and could learn from London Fletcher. Also I think the coaches liked what they saw at the senior bowl.

Round 4 Pick 110 Trumaine Johnson CB/S Montana. Johnson could give the Skins depth at both Corner and Safety and has enough size (6-2 212) and experience to potentially fill either of the starting safety positions depending on who is back next year.

Round 5 Pick 133 Devier Posey WR Ohio St. Posey could go earlier, but I get the feeling he is going to slip a little based on his off the field issues. With his size and speed he could evetually pair with Hankerson as a formidable duo on the outside.

Round 6 Pick 163 Donald Stephenson OT Oklahoma. Stephenson will probably be asked to move to G in the NFL and could eventually be a starter there for the Skins down the road, he also has the experience at tackle to fill in if needed.

Round 7 Pick 196 Frank Kearse DT Alabama A&M. Kearse didn't play at a big time program but that doesn't mean he isn't a big time player, hopefully he can pair with a healthy Jarvis Jenkins to make our DL even better.

This may not be everyone's ideal draft, we don't necessarily come out of it with the Franchise QB we wanted, hopefully like I said they address this area in Free Agency. What we do get in this draft is at least 4-5 starting caliber players and 3-4 guys who have the potential to have very good careers. These picks fill a lot of areas of need and should help make the team much better. We add depth at some areas of strength (LB) and improve some areas of weakness (OL, and Secondary). Let me know what you guys think, I am sure there will be some strong opinions about this mock.
