Best Team for Jason Campbell?
No…it is not Washington. I am not going there, but I have always had a soft spot for Campbell. I don’t know if he would have ever developed into a good QB in this league, but I don’t think the merry- go-round of coaches and offensive systems in Washington during his tenure as a Redskin helped his development. In fact, I think it was a contributing factor of his indecisiveness we witnessed of the field. He finally seemed to have found a home in Oakland before his injury, but now with Palmer there, I don’t see the Raiders keeping him. I wish him well, and do hope he finds a system that maximizes his talents, and limits his weaknesses. What team would be the best fit for Campbell? I could see him going to the Jets or Chiefs.

How about the Virginia Destroyers of the UFL...
a little humor there.
Really, I once saw him in person, pregame, stretching with Brunnell, and I couldn’t believe how incredible his throws were. He could throw lasers. Blew me away.
Then I watched year after year and it became crystal clear, HE COULD NOT READ DEFENSES. Sorry to burst the bubble, 44, but all that physical talent could never and will never translate to the field. Defenses are too complicated today, he gets confused, holds on to the ball WAY TOO LONG, and bad things happen. The Raiders was the perfect team for him, given their love with “launch and throw long” philosophy. Sadly, his career is closer to being over than smelling success…
Except he was playing great last year until he got hurt.

Agree with almost all the above
I often wonder though is the poor decision making related the numerous offense systems he has had to learn. I think if he had been in one system similiar to Rodgers, he would have a much better career.

I think he might stay with the Raiders,
he was more successful as their QB than Palmer was. I still wish that JC was here, I know he is not the answer & never will be but I believe he is a better QB than Grossman or Beck & I always thought he had a lot of class.
my only confusion with your response is...
I know he is not the answer & never will be
So why would you still want him?
Dont think he would want him back
But would we have been better off keeping him, not doing the McNabb deal, and keeping those 2 extra picks. I also tend to think he is the best FA on the market right now, certainly better than Grossmans and Beck, and probably better than Orton.

yeah, but you just agreed with my assessment above...
he can’t read defenses, so how is he the best FA QB on the market?
because the free agent
market stinks

I don't want him back,
but I do wish that we had kept him until we had someone better or as caretaker until a young QB could take over.

I think Mike should have kept him. Donovan was a statistical downgrade. Jason would have been fine with learning another system and would have done it without attitude or Donovan rebellion/resentment. Plus we would have the pics. And a few more wins. And not have Grossman last year either. He screwed up by cashiering Jason.
Some on HH might recall that in 2007-2008 Jason was compared favorably with Eli Manning on some blogs here.

This is a first...
I remember his W-L record was compared to Cutler’s at one point.
Back to the OP…I like Campbell too and want to see him do well. I think he should be a backup QB for a team that has a good defense (like the Ravens, Steelers, 49ers) or even possibly backup Brady(I would love to see what he can do when he has time in pocket). If he can start one game for one of those teams, win it, and that team goes on to play in the SB then i’ll cheer for that team regardless of their NFC opponent (minus Redskins of course).
i dont care what known of yall say
i loved jason i think if we kept him we’d have a better chance of making the playoffs this year and last year, he WAS the solution as far as im concerned…no he wasn’t the best but with him at the helm i always thought we had a chance to win, plus the whole philosiphy of having a great team surrounding the qb…..would have fit jason like a glove, he made mistakes, but not overwhelmingly so he kept us in every game…isnt that the sort of qb shanny wanted grossman to be? Plus he seemed to do better every single year despite the constant changing in the organization….i miss number 17 and still got his jersey.
