The New York Giants have consistently outgained and outpaced the Redskins throughout this game, and yet big plays from the Washington offense have kept them in it - and they have now taken a fourth quarter lead.
After forcing a field goal on the Giants' last drive, Alfred Morris and Robert Griffin III went to work. Morris ran three times for 15 yards to start out the quarter, and Griffin completed a second-and-seven pass 14 yards to Leonard Hankerson for a first down. On first and goal, Griffin faked to Morris on the zone read, the Redskins' blocking scheme worked perfectly, and RGIII found Pierre Garcon in the end zone for a beautiful touchdown, giving Washington an 17-16 with just over 11 minutes left in the game.

The Redskins had a chance early in the third quarter, but blew it on an Alfred Morris fumble. The running back ran for 12 yards early in the drive, and three plays later it was Robert Griffin III's time to strike. RGIII executed a perfect zone read, causing the defense to converge on Morris (who was headed to the right side), and the quarterback sneaked away to the left and ran 46 yards downfield. On the next play, Morris ran six yards to the nine before Chase Blackburn forced a fumble. Keith Rivers recovered, and the Giants are now driving as a result.
It's Morris's second fumble lost of the season, and both have come against the Giants.

Washington's midseason kicker change has found continued success, as Kai Forbath made his eleventh straight field goal to start out his Redskin career, tying tonight's game up at ten with about 40 seconds left in the first half. Forbath hit a 33-yarder that was set up by back-to-back big passes from Robert Griffin III to Pierre Garcon for a total of 53 yards.
With limited time remaining in the half, the Giants went to work again. A five-play, 54-yard drive highlighted by a 28-yard pass to Martellus Bennett resulted in a 40-yard field goal for Lawrence Tynes. It was Tynes' second field goal made of the game, and gave New York a 13-10 lead at halftime.
Griffin has now completed 7/12 passes for 100 yards, with Garcon leading the way for both teams with five receptions for 74 yards. Eli Manning is 14/22 for 187 yards and a score, with Bennett recording five receptions for 82 yards. On the ground, Alfred Morris has six rushes for 44 yards while Ahmad Bradshaw has 15 rushes for 77 yards.

After a near-miraculous touchdown for the Redskins, the Giants have responded with another long drive to take the lead back. After a 13-play, 85-yard jaunt down the field, Eli Manning found Martellus Bennett over the middle for a four-yard TD pass. The Giants took a 10-7 lead with about two-and-a-half minutes left in the second quarter.
With the first half nearly over, Manning definitely has the advantage in the quarterback battle. He is 12/18 on the night for 146 yards and the score, while Robert Griffin III has completed four of eight passing attempts for 50 yards, with one rush for 12 yards.

The Redskins have taken a 7-3 lead against the New York Giants on a wacky play in the first quarter. Robert Griffin III ran the ball to the left side, getting hit and unintentionally fumbling the ball forward. Josh Morgan recovered and dove into the endzone, giving Washington the lead. The play was reviewed by the officials and confirmed.
This came a play after Alfred Morris took a sweep 19 yards to the right side, eclipsing the 1,000 yard mark for the season.

It's been a defensive struggle so far, with the Redskins held under 20 yards halfway through the first quarter. After an 11 play, 69-yard drive, the Giants took the lead on a 39-yard Lawrence Tynes field goal that just snuck inside the left upright. New York leads 3-0 with just over six minutes left in the first.
