Brad Mills-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Robert Griffin III is expected to participate in practice on Thursday.

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is expected to practice on Thursday, according to an announcement from the team. As of this time, Griffin and the Redskins continue to insist that the rookie quarterback is not suffering any setbacks as a result of the concussion he sustained last Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Griffin was injured in the third quarter of the 24-17 loss while attempting to slide during a rush. The rookie was hit high by Atlanta linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, which caused his upper body to snap backwards with his head hitting Jonathan Babineaux. He was diagnosed with a mild concussion.

During media availability on Wednesday, Griffin stated that he felt no sensitivity to light or sound and that his film study hasn't been interrupted by any lingering side effects. He also went on to say that he fully expects to start in Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. As of this time, he has yet to be cleared for contact.
