Most Likely Scenario

  • Redskins will likely trade back to acquire more trades rather than trading up for RG3 (RG3 is a run first QB and while he may beat the Cowboys for us, doubt he can win the Superbowl. I love the guy and his attitude though, just don't think he fits Shanny's system and we will not stretch to get em).
  • Redskins will acquire Matt Flynn for stability and a QB in the 1st or 2nd with one of the extra picks the get from trading pick.
  • Redskins pick Mark Barron SS (Alabama) with 15th pick overall.
  • Now is the time!!!

+1 Did you see them last night?

Dont’a Hightower had that forced fumble…

Everyone was flying to the ball on both sides. Clearly the best two teams in college football this year

yeah they are pretty insane

I’d love to find a way to get Mark Barron, Hightower, Chapman, or Lester. (Upshaw is great also, but not as much of a need)

running QB?

Anybody that says RG3 is just another running QB have not seen this guy play. Yes RG3 have the ability to run but he is not a running QB a lot of his runs was designed runs, but when the play is suppose to be a pass play Griffin III go through progression and look to throw extends plays with his legs then if nothing opens up he takes what he can get watch 2nd half Oklahoma game this year.

RG3

is a PASS-FIRST QB. He only runs when he has to.

Drafting Barron at 15 is reaching big time for him. If we draft anyone there I want it to be a QB or Dont’a Hightower or Vontaze Burfict to replace Fletch

I agree/disagree

How he handles the draft will depend on how he addresses QB in FA. If he signs Flynn, then I really think he will try to trade down. If he signs an Orton/Campbell type I think he will wait and see if Griffin is available at the 6th. If Griffin is there he will take him, if not, he will try to trade down.

However, I would really be surprised if he goes Defense in the 1st two rounds- he’ll go OL or WR if not a QB

Top 6 picks

I think after the top 6 prospects there is a dropoff in talent. To me, these 6 include Luck, Kalil, Griffin, Blackmon, Claiborne and Richardson. I hope that the Browns or anyone else above us takes Richardson, however unlikely I think it is but the Browns make the most sense. If Richardson is the only prospect left when we’re on the clock I agree we should trade back and stockpile picks. However, I disagree with your position choice. I dont see us taking a safety in the first round.

If we traded back to the 15 range I would rather us target a WR, Floyd or Jeffrey, an OL, DeCastro, Martin or Reiff, or a CB, Kirkpatrick or Dennard.

In an interview this evening, Casserly said it would take two 1st round and another high pick to trade up

for RGIII. Most of the guesses on HH have been higher. The trading partner would be the Rams.

Do it

If all it takes is this years 1st, next years 1st and say our 2nd this year to move up to get RG3 then I make that deal in a heartbeat.

We could still target OL and WR with our 3rd and 4ths and possibly a CB.

by gskin53 on Jan 11, 2012 1:18 AM EST up reply actions

i think the rams will take that deal

they get 2 extra picks in the top 28 this year.and our first next year. so they can get richardsons at 6 and get a good linmen or good 2nd round wr. and shanahan get his chance to save his job. and save us all from another coaching change. its a win win to me

arrg. i thinking about browns

when i said they can get richardson. the guy the rams was gonna take at 2 might still be there at 6. because i think browns take rb at 4

that is about what it will take

2012 1st swap with Rams the Redskins 2nd rd pick, 2013 1st rd and a 3rd or 4th rd pick. that is not too much to get the face of your Franchise for the next 10-15 years. you still will have a 3rd rd two 4th rd picks two 6th and a 7th.

and with the 3rd rd pick this year you could get help @ WR like Marvin McNutt from Iowa 6’2" 225, or BJ Cunningham 6’2" 215 or AJ Jenkins 6’1". and get some OL help and secondary help with the 2 4th’s you can make the deal happen

This plan was paid for and endorsed by…me!

P.S. By paid, I meant in pesos.
