NEW LOGO .......

nike will be making NFL jeresys this year . ( all current jerseys are on sale )
and while they have said the sketches found on line are fake. they have also stated that they want to dramatically change logo's and designed

Star-divide

so what do you guys think should we change the logo? if yes to what

my idea is a native american shooting down an eagle that falls out the sky and hits a cowboy

what should our new home and away colors be ?

I’m a big fan of this one. After seeing the Panthers get their logo it did have me thinking what ours could be.

I’m diggin’ this one for sure!

too cool

I like the indian and arrow combo, like a fusion of the old with the new.IMO,this should be the logo,or at least a more stylized looking native american like this one, rather than the original looking indian on the current helmets

Wow...

…not seen that!! I love it – I’d vote for that.

Got this on my desk, in an Obit given by a Cowboys fan.

Had it for a few years, won’t pitch it until we win the big one.

It has the ending being “Burial at FedEx Field just short of the north end-zone followed by a torch and pitchfork march to the homes of Dan Snyder and Vinny Cerratto.”.

They can't change the logo.

That’s up to the teams. Even the jersey design is up to the team. When Nike said they wanted to change, they meant in the fabric and design of the jerseys.

The pro combat

Jerseys will only we worn for “Rivalry” games though, correct?

As I stated above, I like the top logo but I definitely side with you in the fact that we have tradition. I do like the thought of getting excited for a different off the wall jersey once or twice a year.

Did you like our uni’s against Wisconsin? I did, but only because that was the only game they wore them. I hated the historical throwbacks in the back-to-back Michigan games in ‘09/’10.

I’m with you, keep the traditional look, but a change up every once in a long while works.

by Brutus89 on Jan 31, 2012 4:49 PM EST up reply actions

I hated our uni's vs Wisconsin

Buuut, we pulled one out of our ass so I have to like them haha.

I liked the white throwbacks the best but I didn’t particularly love any of them.

On a side note… let’s pray Stafon Diggs and/or Devante Neal sign with us!

"If there's football in heaven I will be thinking of Sean Taylor every time it thunders."

by Ohio Redskins on Feb 1, 2012 7:41 AM EST up reply actions

I liked the Wisconsin one’s simply because they were so different. Obviously we would never want to see a change to the uni.

We’ve already inked what will be the best defensive line in college football for the next 3 years. We need OL more than anything else, since we’re saying goodbye to Adams, Brewster, and thank god Shugarts.

by Brutus89 on Feb 1, 2012 11:21 AM EST up reply actions

I think the reason I didn’t like the Wisconsin jerseys were because the helmet was so similar to what Georgia wore… the actual jerseys were alright.

I agree about J.B. Shugarts but will be sad to see Brewster go! Super excited about the thought of Noah Spence and Adolphus Washington reeking havoc for the next 3 years!

Kyle Dodson is supposed to announce his decision in less than an hour, praying he wants to join Urban Nation! He would be huuuge on our OLine!

4-star OT Jordan Diamond’s considering us too, but hasn’t signed yet.
We’re currently 2 spots ahead of Michigan in terms of class ranking thus far, landing another 5 star like a Davonte Neal would result in my break dancing outside.

by Brutus89 on Feb 1, 2012 11:38 AM EST up reply actions

I can imagine I’ll throw some nasty fist pumps in my office, but break dancing is what separates the Men from Boys. I must step my game up if given the opportunity.

If we land either of Neal/Diggs then I will highly consider unleashing a backflip. If we land both then it’s a guarantee. haha

And I don't.

I like the tradition of our old Logos… even the new ones that Parks is pointing out are NEW to me.

We wore Burgundy on Gold for AWAY games, and White on Burgundy for home. Yeah, I know the new colors are actually throwbacks to before Coach Allen…. I remember Sonny slinging in Burgundy on Gold at RFK. But our glory years were White on Burgundy.

So all you kids, get off my damn lawn!

The 2002 70th anniversary uni’s will forever be my favorite. If they went to the arrow on the helmet with grey face mask, I’d take it.

That was more burgundy than I think today’s home jersey is. Zorn mighta been on to something with his maroon statement.

by Brutus89 on Jan 31, 2012 4:46 PM EST reply actions

Here's the deal on whats ACTUALLY HAPPENING:

Nike wants to “dramatically change” the actual jersey itself. That means fabric, weight, etc., not actual design.

The Panthers logo is the only one being changed this year. That’s a fact.

The Panthers and Seahawks are getting new uniforms, and a couple other small changes may be made to the Jaguars. That’s ALL.

I looove these uniform and logo things, trust me.
That first comment is a design made by Fraser Davidson, a British designer.

Here are my personal Redskins designs:

Another great concept I’ve seen recently is a “Budweiser not Bud Light” idea on Gridiron League:

And there are countless others.

by Andrew DeFrank on Jan 31, 2012 4:47 PM EST reply actions

Yea I don't love em.

But I included them for the sake of it. Doesn’t have to be an actual uniform, but a fashion jersey like the Bucs black or Packers yellow…

Those are disgusting. You have to love that the Redskins are one of the few teams with almost no modern look or black on their jerseys, any of them. (Others are Bills, Packers, Cowgirls, Colts, Browns, 49ers, and Dolphins. Maybe Vikings.) That’s only a quarter of the league. We’ve never looked modern, and I like that. Just white, burgundy, and gold.

I though about the idea of a name change too

very subtle of course. I would like to see us go back to the helmet with the spear, and change our name to the Washington Warriors. At least it will get all the native american activists groups off our back. Plus, in all honesty, the name Redskins is a little offensive to some.

I have heard some news on the Nike front

that the new uni’s are going to be from the pro combat line, but may not impliment such drastic changes like we all think. We may see a few teams go with something a little different, but from what I’ve read, they are most likely going to keep with the basic tradition the NFL had had during the Reebok contract. We may see the dull finish to the helmets, ala the pro combat style, and a few subtle jersey changes, but overall, I wouldn’t expect too much, other than an alternative Pro-combat uniform, that we mat see the teams wear once or twice a year.

By the way, here are the new Gloves below.

A gold jersey is a must! Gold on gold jersey/pants combo would be incredible.

I’m not a fan of changing the logo, but we do need something new with our uniforms. I was always a fan of the white on white and of course the burgundy x2 combination. Black should also be considered but the logo would have to change before that could happen…

Not a fan...

of any team that wears “color over same color”. Especially white over white… how plain… look like a house painter. I like the separation of colors.

Big fan of a darker burgundy (like the 70th anniversary) Jersey over the gold pants and the traditional white jersey over the Burgundy pants.

Colleges are getting creative with their uniforms – love to see that in the pros – give the Eagles a feather pattern, the Bears claw marks, the Dolphins a “wet sheen”, the Chargers more lightning, etc… (just not that awful Maryland print)

IMO, there was no better uni’s that the ones we wore for the 70th anniv. I had so many non-Redskins fans tell me they were the best looking uni’s in the NFL, and I had to agree(although I have a soft spot in my heart for the Chargers powder blues).

Honestly...

I think the Redskins might be stuck with this logo forever. Since there is so much up-roar about the name “Redskins” and logos that go with it, I believe any changes would fan those flames to a new level of heat.

I believe the current logo is kind of “unspoken-ly” grandfathered in…

I’m sorry to hear if that is the case myself, I’d love a change and a fresh look…
