Pats -7, 50 |
Once again, here are are all of our picks this week. To my surprise, I'm the only one that took the Giants. Here's a stat for you. Eli Manning is 4-0 on the road in the playoffs in his career. A win today would set a NFL record for QBs. A stat that makes me nervous though is that the Niners are 9-0 against the spread at home this year.
As for Pats vs Ravens, Ravens are 4-4 against the spread this year on the road (4-4 straight up as well). Oddly, the Ravens are 5-1 against the spread vs teams with a winning record. Pats have covered 10 out of 16 games this season, and NE has covered the last 3 teams they've played with a winning record. The Pats rushing D is ranked 17th in the NFL while the Ravens boast 2nd best rush D and 4th best pass D. That's good enough for me to take the 7 points.

I certainly don't want Patriot fans to win it all
The smug cloud from Boston could trigger a mass extinction.
i know right, that smug hazard level is already high

Love the Ravens
Even to win straight up. I’ve flipped back and forth on the NFC game, but I’m taking the Giants.

We'll work on "Dominance" once we get the first two figured out.
You do realize that the Giants play in our division, right?
Contrary to popular belief, I am not Jewish.
You do realize I was just predicting who I thought would win, right?

I wanted the Skins to draft Torrey Smith.
I see it as more cushion for the pushin'

I dont think Flacco would be an upgrade over Grossman. Fewer INTs but no more production.

Brilliant blocking in the red zone.
They run well behind Solder (I think TW would be a brilliant RT, but that’s another argument for another time).
Logan Mankins is a beast. Good block from Welker too.
You just knew that after that face-mask penalty, they were giving it back to Green Elllis again. Great drive from the smug, insufferable tw@ts.

A WR that can break a tackle. Must be nice.

Anybody else hate the Ravens and hoping they lose, so their fans can STFU and stop talking to us Redskins fans?
Dear Passionate fan, I know you are passionate, but please reply with a logical answer or I will ignore you.
agreed but they are playing the pats
and yes, their fans are annoying but I think it’s cuz they have a lil bro complex to our big brother-ness so i brush it off.
HTTR!
I was rooting for the Patriots
now i will root for the 49ers.

Neither QB had anything to do with who won this game.
In fact’s I’d say Flacco played a better game than Brady. That game was won entirely by the Defense and Special Teams.
Evans inability to hold on to the football lost the Ravens the game.
Kind of sad seeing when watching kickers choke in the playoffs. Reminds me off the former colts kicker choke job.
I still don't understand that last drive...
The Patriots had Edelman on Boldin the whole drive. WTF is up with that?? The Ravens picked on him the whole drive and the Pats got away with it because of the missed kick.
Now I can understand if you’re low on DBs to stick a WR back there, but to put him on the best WR?? Really? I’m annoyed this will get overlooked because of the missed kick…
yeah and someone will defend it and call Belicheck a genuis just because of the end result

Pats v.s. The Giants. I'm calling it.

God I hope not, I kick Giants in the nuts with a steel toe, or a wingtip

Oh, but I feel like the Patriots will beat them this time.
Both have terrible defenses.

That really felt
Like how the Skins would lose a game like that. That’s how it feels Baltimore, minus AFC Championship and all.

Man I just want to lock Eli in a porta potty and flip that bitch over.

5-0 in the last two weeks and after the Giants win i will be 6-0
4-0 in the Divisional Round of the playoffs
Stephan, that is a funny observation...
Jeff, so you are to blame for pushing Cundiff’s kick EXTREMELY WIDE LEFT. It must be so cool having such power. I think I saw you in the movie trailer for “Chronicle”.
Just some light humor…
I love how Carlos Rogers is getting lit up
Giants throwing at him when they need a first down. I don’t care if he made Pro Bowl b/c he still sucks. Giants remember him from his pathetic Skins days.
Aikman made a funny
It’s amazing how open you get when you call for a fair catch..
you gotta be able to game on the big stage
when it matters you know. you can be a regular season hero all you want but if you cant perform now what good is it.

excuses, excuses, excuses...
what, were you guys roomates at Auburn? He never lived up to his draft status here (he wasn’t horrible, that’s the best I can say about him), that is why he couldn’t find ANYONE to give him the money and now he is reborn? Doubt it.
I hope the 9ers don’t give him what he thinks he is worth…
I'm glad we've got to see so much of Carlos Rogers
I wonder who he’s going to blame for getting burned by Cruz?
Beck to the future!

I think the Giants still win but good for Alex Smith
He went from a classic bust to a solid respectable NFL starting QB. Well done Mr. Smith.
4-0 in the Divisional Round of the playoffs
Agree about Alex Smith
Glad to see him succeeding. On a side note, my wife & I recently returned to Charlottesville & purchased another house in Lyndhurst, its just as beautiful as I remember
Let's go '9ers
I’m trying to hit on San Fran -3, and see the a hated division rival go home
Smith has only thrown 13 passes.
Please tell me Kyle is watching this and taking notes! I hope Mike is smacking him on the back of the head.

that only works
if you have the niners personel

Understand, but it's the game plan of running the ball
To set up the pass that I want to see in DC, not the other way around.
You ever seen a lion limber up before taking out a gazelle?
agree 100 percent
name a qb on our roster that can pass or a receiver who can catch

QB....TBD, WR...we got cheated
With the injury to Hankerson. Don’t forget it takes a few years for WRs to really start to produce. Paul and Robinson show promise. Hank comes back and we will see.
You ever seen a lion limber up before taking out a gazelle?
i can live with developing wide receivers
but i will not stomach another season with rex or beck
by vjessejamesv on Jan 22, 2012 9:25 PM EST up reply actions
Don't think that will be the case
Shanahan has his plan, it’s working, I think the QB is the focus this year. Trade away extra picks and get his man. Plenty of cap space for FAs. I think we have seen rock bottom and are starting to move up out of this hole.
You ever seen a lion limber up before taking out a gazelle?
get on your knees
and beg that there wont be another washed up veteran to be qb

I don't know how I feel about Manning.
If he’s cleared and healthy…I just don’t know
You ever seen a lion limber up before taking out a gazelle?
yeah
but three years at best. what about the long term. if Payton comes here then what does our draft position look like next year.

but i think i like tyler hansen alot
by vjessejamesv on Jan 22, 2012 9:52 PM EST up reply actions
It will be hurt, I think.
He will bring more wins, but a ring? He’ll get us to the middle of the pack where we’ll have to trade away the future to get a top QB in the draft.
You ever seen a lion limber up before taking out a gazelle?
my thoughts exactly
time for a rookie i dont even care if he starts

Wish that was Cruz!
That pu$$y ducks hits worse than anyone I’ve seen in a while. Start calling Cruz primetime for ducking.
You ever seen a lion limber up before taking out a gazelle?
That was BS on the forward momentum.
Blew the whistle way to early.
You ever seen a lion limber up before taking out a gazelle?
Yep, the refs are the #1 game changer.
You ever seen a lion limber up before taking out a gazelle?
pass rushers
Can never have too many. But I wouldn’t be unhappy if skins grabbed someone like kuehly from bc.

For a second I thought it might get picked.

Williams, he just pissed away one of the greatest turnarounds in NFL history
"Klatu Verata Nicthmmmmprrhh"
His mistakes
are going to lead to two scores. One that gave the Giants their first lead. And one that seals the game. Pathetic.
they should code red his ass with bars of soap in towels, like in Full Metal Jacket
"Klatu Verata Nicthmmmmprrhh"
Interviews with kickers
bring my football high down
the only good thing
that could possibly come out of the super bowl is brady and eli break both of there legs and cannot play next year. Oh and coughlin gets hit by a random player on the sideline
6-0 the last two weekends
Does this mean i am the best football analyst on HogsHaven??? Hahah
6-0 in the Divisional Round and Conference Championships
I knew it! Pats v.s. Giants Superbowl.
I am going to say the Patriots win the Superbowl this time, their defense is getting hot at the right time. Also I don’t want to hear Giants fans shit-talking.

Awful
Adam Schefter
Just as everyone expected: Devin Thomas and Sterling Moore would be the two heroes of Championship Sunday.
Nah
The real hero of the NFC Championship is the SF Punt returner.
