What had happened was...

Look, most of the speculation about RG3 to Washington can go ahead and end. The Browns seem destined to draft him. As much as I would love to have him, it just is not going to happen unless the Redskins trade up, which I doubt they will. To echo what many have been posting, I believe Matt Flynn is our best option at this point. I would much rather sign him than go into next season with a bust like Tannehill as a potential starting QB. Brandon Weeden is older than Flynn and would still have to adjust to the NFL. I think in this situation (not getting RG3) the Skins have a tremendous chance to improve their squad through the draft and the signing of Matt Flynn. This team needs help in many areas, and have the draft picks to address them. Whether it is trading down or staying where they are, the Redskins have the opportunity to fill a lot of areas of need. Alshon Jeffery should get a long hard look. He is a big play guy who would allow Moss to work in the slot, providing yet another weapon for Flynn. Go on to address offensive tackle in the 2nd or 3rd, only because Jammal Brown looks to be the starter at right tackle heading into next season. If the Skins decide to trade down or go offensive tackle in the 1st, Nick Toon could be another good option at WR. Names like Blackmon and Claiboure need to be forgotten, because they are not dropping to 6th. This draft needs to cover the offensive line, wide receiver, the secondary and London Fletcher's eventual replacement.

If I had it my way, I would sign Flynn, re-sign Fletcher, Davis, Hightower, Carriker, Montgomery, Lichtensteiger and Landry (maybe). My first round pick would be Alshon Jeffery and I would address offensive tackle in the 2nd unless there is a good CB on the board.

Just my thoughts.
