The time is now–the Redskins must trade up to select Randy Bullock

For those Redskins fans who have been living under a rock for eternity, Randy (RB1) is the 2011 Lou Groza award winner.

The 5'9" 212 pound senior dominated this year's Meineke car care bowl of Texas, scoring 15 points helping Texas A&M defeat Northwestern by going six for six…

Star-divide

On his kicking. He made all three of his extra points attempted and his field goals of 31, 40, and 47 yards. Too many Redskins fans who watched this game were focusing on Texas A&M's quarterback Tannehill and completely overlooked the stellar performance by RB1.

Franchise kickers can only be found in the first round as is evidenced by the Oakland Raiders. Sebastian Jankowski and Shane Lechler were both selected in the first round.

The Redskins have not had a decent placekicker since Chip Lohmiller. I am tired of having to watch subpar placekicking, Graham Gano is by far the worst placekicker in the NFL–no one here can deny that.

The Redskins ignore this position every year and try to plug this glaring hole through three agency to no avail.

Look at San Francisco, they are playing in the NFC championship game and all anyone can talk about is David Akers, no one is talking about their quarterback Alex Smith.

We have tried to draft kickers and punters in the lower rounds and develop them, but it has not worked yet. We need to stop ignoring our missing piece on special teams and trade up whatever it takes to get RB 1. We have all the other pieces on special teams, a excellent game returner in Stabby Banks, a great punter and holder(who can also tackle) in Sav Rocca– and of course our special teams captain Lorenzo Alexander.

We owe it to these guys to get RB1 before the window of opportunity closes on this current team.

So what say you Redskins nation?

What? (Shock and disbelief)

He won the freaking Lou Groza award!!!

How can you say he is not the best kicker in college football? Sportswriters are never wrong about these things (Maurice Clarette was a beast, Denver ruined him)

Plus, I'm not so sure about this
Graham Gano is by far the worst placekicker in the NFL–no one here can deny that

He may not be the best

But he’s certainly not the worst

If those 4 blocks didn't happen then Gano would've been a Top 10 kicker this year.

He was also 4 for 6 beyond 50, not bad. Gano needs to improve, but he doesn’t justify using a drat pick yet.

I don’t understand what you were trying to accomplish?

Come on

In the last two weeks quite a few good posts have gotten bumped off by a litany of poorly written rantings on the same subject–and you never complain about them.
Just trying to have little fun here, it would not have been the first satirical post written (and most of them are written by the editors or authors on this site)
I think it also speaks in a backhanded way to the reservations a lot of people have on here about trading up multiple picks to get one player.

If you don’t feel that way, and think that this post has even less merit that some of the crap that I’ve seen in the last six months, then by all means delete it.
You are the editor, and you have the power.
I am just wondering why I am the first one to be called to the floor publicly for "wasting" space. I don’t wish to be mean and actually start throwing out examples because I don’t think it’s necessary–every "drunk post" seems to slip by without any complaint.

I completely agree with you, but those post are from a person actual point of view.

As dumb or poorly written they might be, they still reflect what the person believes. This however is just a sarcastic, satirical post about a kicker.

Save it for April 1.

But now I have to come up with new material.
Thank you for explaining it to me

You can't dangle kicker convos under peoples nose and take them away

That’s like stealing Christmas

I'm close to it, if he wouldn't have kick the ball out of bounds at two critical time then I'd be around the corner

His back injury kind of scares me now.

Certainly agree we need to bring in some competition for Gano

Oh come on man!

Ask Kevin, our place kicking situation drives him nuts (personally, I could give a rats ass)

in the spirit of this post, let me ask you this… which team has a worse place kicker right now?

by Skins Fan '77 on Jan 17, 2012 11:44 AM EST reply actions

Kevin likes Gano, he gets on me about ragging on him all the time.

Rayner, Suisham, and Josh Brown all had worse years. Like I said, if those four kicks aren’t blocked then he has a similar season to Akers. Novak sucks, Kasey is 800 years old, Nugent sucks from downtown, I can go on and on. Gano is average.

I don't remember the Florida State's kickers name....

but he looked like he was pretty good in the coupole games I saw this year…plus he spray painted his shoes gold which was pretty cool

Dustin Hopkins

Great kicker, much like Gano. Graham is going to be around a long time.
