The Draft...

I think by now, we all know that the quarterback position needs to be addressed in some shape or form in the draft. The 1st Round features the likes of one Andrew Luck, as well as a Robert Griffin the Third. I've wanted Luck as the face of our franchise since there was a chance he'd declare for last years draft. However, with the Colts already coming out and announcing that they'd draft him, 1) They don't want to trade him and 2) To convince them to fork him over, we'd put back our rebuild by 2-3 years, which is unreasonable. That has left many fans on the RGIII bandwagon.... a player which I don't particularly care for. Why? I've watched various games and something just doesn't sit right with me. He looks golden, for sure, but all that glitters is not gold. Soooooo... 1st Round, in my opinion, should either go to the offensive line or the receiving core. Or, even better, trade down and accumulate more picks in an obviously deeper draft. I've become more and more comfortable with drafting Nick Foles. The size, the accuracy on short and medium throws, and the arm strength for bombs, however, he needs help w/ accuracy on those throws (Shanahan's Jr. and Sr. should be able to fix that). If that means signing Flynn or some other veteran quarterback (Rosenfels, etc.) to battle with him or stop gap for a year or two, I'm fine with that. In my mind, this seems like a workable plan for the draft, that will allow us to roll the dice on a possible quarterback of the future without mortgaging our rebuild away.
