There's 17 articles and you chose to comment on Banks.
Like I said before, you’ve always got something to say about him – and it ain’t positive. Don’t know why you have it out for him so bad.
"If a man speaks and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong???"
Didn't know I had it out for him.
I was planning on commented on the other articles, is that ok with you? I’ve already personally congratulated the guy and I’ve said numerous times I think he’s a great kick/punt returner. What was I supposed to take out of the article that was positive? We kept a guy that can’t be a WR, can’t practice, and will likely miss multiple games this season…awesome
I’ve noticed a trend that you just kind of follow me around and comment on things I say, did I run over your cat or something?

what is there positive to say?
He’s a top 10 return man, with maybe the potential to be top 5.
Unfortunately that is all that there is and he is highly injury prone.

he brings a dimension to the team that we have been lacking
I think its very positive to have a return man that we believe in that can get the job done for great field positioning and possible TD chances. I’m happy to find a roster spot for him.
I think all you need is a good return man to be successful in this league
and that is something that I’m sure Paul or Austin could have done. Having the best return men rarely lead to having a great team.
Steveospeak - Content Manager of Fanspeak.com
im not sure we lost anyone that hurt us
so i rather have the better return man.
Think of the difference
in field position between someone like ARE, who simply fair caught everything vs Banks, who is going to get about 10 yds each punt if he doesn’t take it all the way. That’s one less 1st down we have to earn each possession. Also, I noticed during the TB game, they were kicking out of bounds instead of too him even in pre-season. We were getting an extra 10 yds or so then as they were kicking short to get it out of bounds. I think this is a pretty big deal. Maybe we do another T-shirt for him? :)
What contemptible scoundrel has stolen the cork to my lunch? -W. Clement Stone
a couple things wrong with that
Not all of Banks non, TD’s go for 10 yards. plenty go for -3 to 6 yards as well. Yes Banks had a strong average, but it would have been even better if he was smart enough to fair catch some of those.
Which brings us to ARE, yes Randle El had a high FC %, but the fact of the matter is Banks is too low. He was too risky last year and at times it cost the Skins a couple yards of field position. Also Randle El did get some yards (he was over 6+ for his Skins career), and while adding in the FC’s brings that down it isn’t a complete 10 yard difference between the two.
Finally, we aren’t talking about using ARE, that is a loaded question. that is like asking who do you prefer at RT this offseason Brown or Heyer. You are ignoring other quality options (Paul/Austin) who might not be as good as Banks, but they are far better than ARE.
Steveospeak - Content Manager of Fanspeak.com
Laron Landry is a top 10 SS, with maybe the potential to be top 5.
Unfortunately, he has been plagued by injuries for the past year, yet people still find ways to be positive about what he can do when healthy and wish him a speedy recovery. (except for the few crazies that want him cut)
Why can’t we do the same for Banks?
"If a man speaks and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong???"
by ThuGodfather on Sep 7, 2011 10:20 AM EDT up reply actions
a huge difference
Strong Safety is light years more important than a return man. Ignoring the value of each play for a second, a healthy starting defender will play over 1,000 plays a season. If Landry starts a game and a half he will be in on more plays than Banks will be. And yes people will say that “But Banks has a chance to return it for a TD everytime he touches the ball”, what they don’t say is “Unfortunately that chance is at between 0.5%-1.0%”. They also fail to mention that while he’ll have some 35+ yard KO returns, and 20+ yard PO returns, he will also have some bad returns as well. The problem is that honestly any defensive play is more important than any return play. Like it or not, defense is vastly more important than the return game. In fact there is a correlation between the two, since a good-great defense will eliminate KO return chances, while increasing punt returns. A quality defense that gets quick stops and forces teams to Punt from their own territory also makes it easier for a punt returner as they get better field position.
Steveospeak - Content Manager of Fanspeak.com
It's not about which is more important
It’s about being supportive of players who excel at their position and are unlucky enough to be battling an injury.
"If a man speaks and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong???"

I wish Banks the best
but honestly I don’t get keeping him. He’s got some serious issues (injury, one dimensional, new rules) that are against him. He’s clogging up a spot (and the same goes with Stallworth) on our roster (both 53 and game day) that would be better used for another O-lineman, D-lineman, or DB (and yes in part b/c of Landy’s injury issues).
Steveospeak - Content Manager of Fanspeak.com
I don't see how Stallworth fits in with Banks
He made the team as a solid, reliable, veteran receiver – presumably ahead of Hankerson and Paul, and close to Austin, in that role, and just too good to give up. I think they kept Hank and Paul because they didn’t want to lose them, and Banks for special teams. I just read that the depth chart shows the top four as Moss/Armstrong and Gaffney/Austin. My guess is that Stallworth is #5, but we’ll see. I’m not sure how teams use a #5 receiver.
Oh, yeah
But I wouldn’t think we’d get much for him. Maybe part of a bigger deal. I do think we could use another O-lineman and another D-lineman.
Clogging up a spot?
He has scored more points than at least half of our receiving Corps and RBs…. just sayin.’ There are probably 2-4 other players more expendable, though none come to mind at the moment. Just musing out loud.
What contemptible scoundrel has stolen the cork to my lunch? -W. Clement Stone
How?? Banks has one career TD
even if you give him the other two that were called back that is less TD’s than Moss, Hightower, Gaffney, Stallworth, and Torain have, and the exact same number that Armstrong has (and not really since Armstrong’s counted). The only people Banks has scored more points than are the Rookies, plus Austin.
Steveospeak - Content Manager of Fanspeak.com
The game day roster considerations.
Special teams weighs heavy in the Team determining who will play. STs give Paul a lift compared to some other WRs like Stallworth. Moss, Gaffney, and Armstrong will get the majority of the WR snaps.
Austin’s ST play gets him some game day break as well.
Just my opinion but the game day inactive list looks like Landry, Hankerson, Willie Smith, Neild, Stallworth, Torain, and White. If Cooley can’t play White or Torain may be active.
by Jefferson1935 on Sep 8, 2011 5:12 AM EDT up reply actions
my only issue would be having just 5 active d-linemen, that is razor thin
Steveospeak - Content Manager of Fanspeak.com
is that 1.0% chance of happening for the good returners in the league?
I dont know where to look up this information…Say the top5 returners in the league.
honestly no, it's for the league
but outside of Hester and maybe Brad Smith, it is hard to say what is a consistently great returner or just a 1-3 year run. There is a huge turnover rate in return men, as they either develop into full time players and are only part time (or don’t return balls at all) returners, or they are out of the league all together because they are too one dimensional. Even Hester has cut down on his number of kick returns.
The other reason I went with the league % is that given the small sample size on most of these players it is really hard to say who is truly elite. For instance Banks’s numbers were far better than Josh Cribbs last season, but that is just comparing a single season. Cribbs has been far better overall, and does have 10 career TD’s (though none last season).
Finally, I don’t think that Banks is a top 5 return guy. Again it is hard to say will so many part timers, or guys who only primarily do one or the other, but Banks’s numbers put him more in the top 10 range than top 5.
Steveospeak - Content Manager of Fanspeak.com
The rule of thumb for snaps is close to 1,000 for offensive or defensive players that play 3 snaps in a
series. Special team snaps are something else that is more variable. In Banks case he only plays on the STs were he would be the returner. The efficiency of the offense or defense will go a long way in determining the number of snaps played by those teams. Your logic is pretty tight in your post.
by Jefferson1935 on Sep 7, 2011 11:48 AM EDT up reply actions
is that 'tight' as in good or 'light' as in bad
Steveospeak - Content Manager of Fanspeak.com
Tight as in a good estimation. If the Skins offense does well on 3rd down conversions the # of
snaps could go up through the season and conversely, the number of defensive snaps would go down.
The one LB on the Seahawks had 1,200 snaps in 2010 which indicates that their defense spent a lot of time on the field. Obviously the offense and defense’s efficiency effect each other. Time of possession tends to reflect this aspect of the game. Passing offenses tend to use less clock than rushing offenses.

Sucks that Hank is even behind Paul on the Depth Chart, young players need lots of exposure
something he looks like he’ll get little of.
He'll get in in practice for the next 17 weeks.
first he’s got to learn to catch the ball before running with it.
by DudleyDoright on Sep 7, 2011 8:53 AM EDT up reply actions
Like I've said before
Jerry Rice had to go through a season of the dropsies before he became Jerry Rice
yeah but you can flip that around and think of how good Paul can be, if he is already out playing guys picked 70 picks ahead of him
Steveospeak - Content Manager of Fanspeak.com
I noticed that Paul was downfield just about even with Banks on that long kick return. It was a good indication of Paul's
speed. There was another Skins player who was also close, but I didn’t catch his number. Hankerson has longer arms and bigger hands than Paul, but weighs about 10-15 pounds less, with each at 6’2". The main thing is getting open and catching the ball.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Redskins moving back to DC...
As a season ticket holder, I’d hate to fight that freakin traffic.
Don't worry by that time we'll all have Jetsons type cars...
I’m curious b/c I’m 25. I only went to one Skins game at RFK (Sunday night vs. the Jets last year, Keyshawn got ejected). But how was the metro back then and would that help alleviate problems nowadays? I know this depends a lot on where the stadium would be.
I know it’s not nearly as many people, but I’ve never had trouble getting out of Verizon or Nats park.

yes in fact I was
Though the game against the colts was a sunday or monday night could make a difference…Also my friend went to the game with me (steelers fan) he said the steelers stadium was much cleaner as well. I doubt the people were any better though.
sadly i know exactly what your talking about
I was at the colts game and it got ridiculous. I was so surprised to find myself among a lot of skins fans that were seriously fighting with each other. I was leaving the parking lot and some skins fan threw a football at our car and got in my face because I was trying to get in line to get out. I didnt understand what the hell people were fighting about.
During the game I saw a redskins girl in her 30’s maybe just throw up all over this 70+yr old dude and just run away and left him sitting there not knowing what to do.
I enjoyed watching the game, but the atmosphere of the fans that night left a bad taste in my mouth.
I was just at the Bucs game and had a great experience
I was in lower part of section 1, so most of the riff-raff was in the upper levels, which could have contributed to my enjoyable fedexfield encounter. Otherwise, I didn’t see any fights, or vomiting redskins women. They might step up their game for the regular season, who knows.
My only complaint are the bathrooms. They are attrocious, but that doesn’t bother me that much, either. It’s a bathroom afterall.
yea i was just commenting on that one game
ive been to a lot of other ones and nothing that i thought bad of.
Sure they weren't our

From what I remember it would get pretty full but it was never too bad. They would sometimes have to temporarily close off the near entrance but people never seemed to get too worked up over it. You could always walk to the far entrance or hop on one of the buses that ran through there and headed downtown. Of course RFK is almost half the size of FedEx, so if they decided to make a 90K seat in that area I’m guessing things would be different.
Yea 500 seat capicity!
In all seriousness the fact opposing fans get tickets has less to with the size and more to do w/ the team sucking. We live in a different age now where if opposing fans want tickets then they’ll get them no problem.

I’ve never had trouble getting out of Verizon or Nats park.
For Nats, when it’s a crowded game or ppl all leave at the same time Metro can be beyond brutal. Verizon is so good because there’s 3 different entrances for Gallery Place and Metro Center is a 3 block walk.
RFK was/is pretty brutal mainly because it only has that 1 bottleneck entrance to get into it. I metro to Fedex half the games and it’s actually pretty solid. I don’t mind the 15 min walk but some may.

maybe they could install some sort of a lightrail through the city directly to the stadium...
it could link up to some satellite tailgating areas
In the movie Back to the Future....next year IS the future
so we should have flying cars by then, haha. I live in Va Beach area, so I wouldn’t want to ride up there to take the metro. I have like 1000 dollars worth of tailgating equipment that I like to put to use.
I’m only 29, but do I remember taking the metro when I was a kid to RFK with my dad. I don’t remember it being over crowded or even a long walk. I think the last game that I went to there was the year we drafted Stephen Davis. I’m sure the metro would most def alleviate a good 2-5 thousand vehicles from being on the road
The other issue is that RFK held what about 25K less fans than FedEx
that is quite a few more metro riders and drivers
Steveospeak - Content Manager of Fanspeak.com
It was AMAZING
Easy to get to and fro games, bunch o’ rowdy Skins fans singin ‘Hail To’, and the FEW fans of the opposing team sprinkled about would hunker down and keep their trap shut. I remember a
Hilly fan sitting on his hat once. It fell when he got up, and everyone started effing with him. Of course, if it was a Skins fan in Philly, it’s possible the guy would’ve had to worry about physical harm from a bunch of cowardice crazies.
The traffic around FedEx is pretty bad as it is. Plus I think more people would take the Metro when it’s barely a 1/4 mile walk at RFK as opposed to the mile walk from the metro to FedEx.
I still don't understand the bitching about FedEx traffic, past two years going back to VA has been a breeze after the games
Editor at Hogs Haven - Redskins Blog
Twitter: @RVAparks Check it out for the latest Redskins news and opinions
Don’t get me wrong, PG County and the Skins have really figured out how to work the roads in the area but, at least compared to other NFL stadiums I’ve been to (Ralph Wilson, Heinz Field, the old Meadowlands) the traffic at FedEx is relatively bad. Maybe it’s because FedEx is so big?
I don't know, it used to be bad for me, but since the new Woodrow Wilson opened up it's been a snap getting home

Certainly near the stadium traffic has improved from when FedEx first opened, but going to the games from Montgomery County I always start seeing heavy traffic around Beltsville (doesn’t help that 95 merges with 495 there too).
Probably another big problem with FedEx (aside from it’s size) is that there really is only one major highway near it. The Meadowlands and Heinz Field have numerous highways around it.
Yea I'm always coming from the South, so it may be different.

Stadium needs to be near a Metro stop in the city. 1 reason Ravens stadium is so nice is that there is tons to do nearby the stadium and tons of folks walk in from other parts of the city. Lots of folks disperse at different times to different parts as well, so everyone is not trying to leave at the same time by the same method. You need things to do near the stadium…

He can’t sell tickets to fill the current stadium. No way he is going to spend a billion or more on a new stadium in the current environment. There is real concern for the NFL that all of the teams are going to have a very hard time selling tickets going forward, as the home experience is improving every year, is cheaper, and much more convenient.

And that has anything to do with it because?
A new stadium right now is simply a bad investment. He’s been putting a lot of money into the existing one that he would never get back, and he’s looking at declining ticket revenue for the foreseeable future. The days of getting one game only with not so great video quality on a 13 inch TV are over.

You're right the fiscal situation of the team has nothing to do with it.

Is he? If the team gets better then more tickets are sold. And have you not noticed the influx of non-Redskins events going on at FedEx? I’m sure hosting Army-Navy, Tech-Boise St, etc. have just killed Danny. I can’t imagine how much money he’s lost!
He may not build a stadium soon b/c of the renovations and investments that he has made the past 2-3 years into FedEx, but the reason for him not building a new stadium is not due to lack of ticket sales.
Editor at Hogs Haven - Redskins Blog
Twitter: @RVAparks Check it out for the latest Redskins news and opinions
The NFL is very concerned about ticket sales for the entire league
not just Washington. Only a very small percentage of the fans have ever been to a game. Jerry Jones is on record saying that’s why they have the giant screen in his new stadium – because you can’t see the game very well from the upper deck. They are very concerned that the improving technology is going to negatively impact the sales for everyone.
"Our game cannot become a studio game, it’s got to have the pageantry of the coliseum of Rome, it’s got to have the crowds.
That’s Jones on the concern that the league could become a “studio” game if they can’t draw enough people to the stadiums.

Cool? What the hell does that have to do with anything I just said?
I can see why Jerry Jones was concerned. I’d be concerned too if I was Ralph Wilson or I was Jurrah and built a 100,000 seat monstrosity that has $50 pizzas.
I thought we were talking about the Redskins? Have tickets sales at FedEx really declined that much since 2000? If they have declined has the decline not been covered up with the revenue from hosting marquee college football games, huge concerts, and international sporting events?
I don’t know if you noticed either, ole’ Jurrah wasn’t able to get a big ole’ Texas signed sponsor as planned for his stadium.
Editor at Hogs Haven - Redskins Blog
Twitter: @RVAparks Check it out for the latest Redskins news and opinions
Exactly why
dropping a Billion in Washington doesn’t make any sense. They are very concerned that increasingly people will choose to stay home for the better experience than going to the games. Building a new stadium doesn’t make sense for anyone whose stadium isn’t completely dilapidated at this point.
As for evidence of declining sales, does tearing out thousands of seats because you can’t sell the tickets count? Does the fact that there is no longer a waiting list count? How about the fact they they call me and each of my two cousins every year offering us tickets after we dropped the 8 seats we used to have between us?

Perhaps
but even if ticket revenue has stayed flat, how would even flat revenue justify investing a billion or more in a new stadium when there is nothing wrong with the existing stadium and he probably hasn’t fully paid for the existing stadium?
The people who are building stadiums are doing so to get out of worn out facilities that don’t have sufficient luxury boxes. They build the new stadiums anticipating massive increases in revenue. That isn’t the Redskins situation. You don’t spend a billion dollars to get the same revenue you can get by spending zero dollars.

I recognize all this and have already justified this reasoning
You pointed to the reason for him not building a new stadium b/c of the lack of ticket sales though, not any of the reasons you just stated.

Have you been to FedEx? Have you been to any of the post-2000 stadiums? Jack Kent Cooke built a POS cookie cutter stadium that was 20 years behind the times. FedEx doesn’t have many of the amenities new stadiums have.

I've been to Mile High for a few games
There is better offsite parking and closer at Fedex. The stadium itself is fairly similar. The biggest problem I had with Fedex was the lack of a large high def replay screen, but that has been fixed.

That stadium was built in 1948 and was taken down in 2001...
Doesn’t that prove Parks’ point?

The seats that were taken out
are part of revenue sharing with the other NFL teams. I doubt it hurts profits too much or at all. If the seats are converted to luxury seats, then the team keeps all of the money for those seats. Potentially this would increase team profit.
They aren't putting
luxury seats in the upper deck of the end zone. They took them out because no one wanted to buy them. You aren’t suddenly going to get someone to pay a premium for some of the worst seats in the stadium.

I think Liger means
that the people who had those tickets would be offered Club level seats. Anytime someone elects to do so Dan makes a huge differential in profits due to increased cost per seat and that those seats are pure profit (minus overhead).

What contemptible scoundrel has stolen the cork to my lunch? -W. Clement Stone
right
Danny didn’t remove those seats b/c nobody wants them (which is sorta true), it is part of a larger plan to make more money. He didn’t lose anything by taking them out and whatever goes there will be part of a plan to generate non-shared revenue.
No one wanted to buy them?
The $40 end zone seats were probably the most sought after season tickets. Now he takes out the seats and can hit people with higher renewal costs b/c they are sitting closer to mid field.
Plenty of people were in the endzone seats, the midfield ones are the ones that weren’t selling as well. That’s why they were able to displace people.

“The people on the waiting list are being offered to buy seats. And we have the seats available for them,” Lon Rosenberg, vice president of Operations for FedEx Field, told ESPN Radio 980 this week, according to a transcript published by the Washington Post. “These are seats that they were not wanting to buy, and they were asking to be kept on the waiting list ’til better seats opened up.”

While not mentioned so far, the fact that "only a very small percentage of the fans have ever been
to a game" is the reason pay per view is seen as a future NFL option. I have not been to a live game in about 40 years and have had pros versus cons feelings about it when I lived within a reasonable commuting time. If the league resorted to pay for view the number of fans would drop considerably and there would be less money made from accessories like jersey sales.
by Jefferson1935 on Sep 8, 2011 5:35 AM EDT up reply actions
exactly
The reason the league can charge ESPN, NBC, CBS, Fox, and Direct TV so much is because their fan base is b/c there are so many fans. They already can blackout local fans an etc. so they do have control.
as for just a small percentage of fans that have gone to an NFL game in their lifetime, i’m not that surprised. The NFL fan base is so massive, and since they get network television it isn’t as locally based as the other Major sports. Also the number of games greatly affects how many people can go watch NFL games. There are just 256 total regular season games each year in the NFL, baseball by comparison has nearly 2,500 (NHL and NBA are both over a 1,000 also), so your opportunities to see a game are a lot harder to come by. Finally for the majority of franchises are season ticket based. Meaning that the same fans are in the stadium week in and week out. And sure some of those tickets might get sold, but for most franchises that might only be for a game or two. Most other leagues (with the exception of a couple notable franchises) rely mainly on the walkup and daily ticket sales. Also for other sports their season ticket sales are misleading. The Nationals for example have something like 12,000 season ticket equivalents. But that is a lot more than just 12,000 people who have ticket plans. Since some of them are half season plans and some are 20 game plans. Also since you get more games even in a 20 game plan you are more likely to sell or give away more games to other fans.
Yes some cities have trouble selling tickets, but part of that is because they are some of the worst run franchises in football. They are usually cheap owners who not only produce a good product on the field, but they don’t advertise or provide any additional amenities to their fans.

I heard they were going to build DC United a stadium near Anacostia, raze RFK and rebuild on that site. Fedex would be burnt to the ground and infested with new condominiums. Don’t know the current status or accuracy of that “plan.”
What contemptible scoundrel has stolen the cork to my lunch? -W. Clement Stone
I've felt
For quite some time that Snyder wanted a new stadium. He inherited this one, and no matter how many party decks or lawn chairs he puts in, the stadium will never be “his”. The only problem with being downtown is that he would not make as much money on parking. Not that he wont make up for it elsewhere. I’m sure he will make the new stadium 65% luxury seats, and 25% club level.
I'd like
a stadium downtown. Even where that old rickety RFK sits is fine. Aside from that, how about edible food in the stadium? Or more than just warm piss to drink from the guys as they walk by. There is not even a non-alcoholic drink to be had or even a peanut, or..anything.
You have a choice of cheap beer or cheap beer. Nationals stadium is much nicer and pleasant. It takes into account that families go to parks to see a game.

Late addition from a former Pro scout on Grossman
You’re either a playmaker or you’re not; you’re either consistent or you’re not. Coaches like to say, ‘He’s never been in the same system or this system.’ That’s a coach’s ego talking, but from a scout’s perspective, no. Guys like Grossman have played so much you know what he is. They’re mediocre backups; they get you beat.

And it clearly defines what the Redskin have in Grossman
While he is the starter, it will be good and bad…week to week…series to series: But it’s what the Redskins are going with this year HTTR!
He's correct
and I would hope redskin fans understand this. Grossmans not going to magically break out and turn into a top tier qb.
I would say he’s an excellent backup, but a mediocre starter. The hope I have for the skins offense rests squarely on the shoulders of the running game.
The Beat Box aka skins secondary.
Jake Plummer was inconsistent as it gets & his 2nd year in DEN he threw for 4000 yards and 27 TDs. Just saying.

And his next year he was probably even better, despite the yards going down, the INT's did as well
the biggest issue is simply if they keep him Grossman upright. Plummer’s 4K year he was sacked 15 times, and just 22 times the next year.
Steveospeak - Content Manager of Fanspeak.com
Yeah about that jake plummer thing
grossmans getting sacked way more than 15 times.
but point still taken, if grossman has a season like that i’ll gladly eat my words and then some..

yeah pressure is going to be a big key
hopefully we can figure out what went wrong in this Tampa game when the line looked awful (against backups)

Sorry, but
Jake Plummer was a way getter QB than Grossman ever will be. It’s just a fact.
Oh, and I’m not saying Plummer was great, I’m just pointing out the obvious.
A rather disturbing article about Rex in the Post today (Rick Maese)
Disturbing because of quotes from Tom Jackson, Cris Collinsworth and Jerry Rice. Basically, just stumbles into trouble, keeps making mistakes. Rice had a puzzling quote about his alleged lack of emotion, too, which made me wonder if Jerry was confusing Rex with Jay Cutler. I like Rex’s demeanor – seems to be a guy who has been brutally beaten down (which he was, in Chicago), recognizes how tough the job is, but still thinks he can succeed. But if those guys are right, there will be mistakes.
Shanahan says he only looked at Rex’s performance with him, essentially ignoring Rex’s past. Optimists like me hope that Rex has matured with age, and just won’t make so many mistakes.
TO just doesn't know when to shut his mouth...
he should have said “it’s none of my business”. Seriously, I just saw this guy crying on VH1 because he’s running out of money or whatever. Comments like this will keep every GM from wanting TO in their uniform beside there young, impressionable rookie

Does anyone know of any trade rumors regarding our WRs?
I’m anxious to know what is going to happen with that.
It just keeps getting worse. The highest I’ve seen the ‘Skins ranked was 28. I was optimistic, but I’m starting to slide now. How could they all be wrong? I hope they all have egg on their face come January.

Well it looks like Derrick Dockery found a new team
Guard Derrick Dockery has signed an incentive-laden, one-year deal with the Cowboys.
He will get $810,000 in base salary to go along with a $100,000 signing bonus.
and as we all knew Dez Bryant is immature and irresponsible
Dez Bryant is headed into the season hoping to put his financial woes of the off-season in his rearview mirror.
But according to a source, Bryant’s problems won’t be completely solved until he earns more money or signs a new contract.
Bryant faced two lawsuits in the spring seeking more than $850,000 from the Dallas Cowboys receiver. One of the suits was settled, but one is alive in Tarrant County.

what??
Dockery was among the better guards in the league in 2009. He just didn’t fit the system last year. Unfortunately he fits the Cowboys system perfectly.

Dockery was not ever a power blocker. He did do well on pass protection in 2009, but not in 2008 with the Bills.

I’m happy Torain isn’t number 2. At 3rd he gives us a decent RB if we need him and gives Helu chances to take it to the house.
with the exception
that they already have a highly drafted QB that they expect to replace him soon.

I am glad that Shanahan and I agree on Banks
"I don’t look at Brandon [Banks] as a receiver – he’s a returner," Shanahan said. "I thought he did such a great job in punt returns and kick returns that it would be silly not to dress him on game day. I think he’s a difference maker out there, but he will be a specialty."
I have a feeling that might just be lip service....
I remember hearing that Shanny said Smith could pick one guy for the roster, if we can assume Sellers and LorAx made it on their own merit, Banks is a no brainer from that perspective.
