The preliminary list of modern era nominees for enshrinement of the Pro Football Hall of Fame has been released including 103 total nominees (71 players, 14 coaches, and 18 contributors). 20 of those nominees had some relationship with the Washington Redskins franchise (see below for the complete list of Redskins).
The number will be cut down to 25 in November, and then 15 in early January- for a set of 17 finalists for the Hall of Fame (15 modern era + 2 senior nominees which this year are Steelers DB Jack Butler and Lions G Dick Stanfel). From that list of 17, we can expect 4-7 Hall of Fame nominees, though in recent years, the committee has used all 7 spots since there are many deserving candidates still out there.
