If I was Jason Garrett I would send Dez Bryant on post right at 30 on the first play of the game.

Let’s hope Landry is ready.

Let's hope Atogwe is covering that and Landry is up in Romo's Face

That’s what we got beat on last year’s Monday Night Massacre, I hope we’re more prepared than that..

I'm hoping that's why we got him, haha

I have this theory that maybe Landry is getting so big that he can take over at MLB when London retires.

I had been wondering about that too.

Is it a real possibility? Because he’s a great tackler but iffy at coverage. Put him against TE’s instead of WR’s- andI think he’d excel.

He's way too small to play LB in the 3-4

remember him on Brandon Jacobs a few years ago? Now imagine an offensive lineman.

I don’t think that’s a fair comparison, not only was Landry smaller then but he also went into that tackle so awkwardly. And Jacobs used to run through his o-linemen when he was in his prime, you couldn’t stop him.

by travisjh86 on Sep 26, 2011 2:43 PM EDT up reply actions

He doesn't have the body type

to add the 30 pounds he would need. He’s already about as muscular as is possible and still be able to move. If he added 30 pounds, it would all be fat, and it would all just be in the way.

Yes, if he's too fired up he might forget he has to cover somebody

He has to realize that he has to be smart, not just physical. None of us can forget that Jackson TD on the first play of the game.

by Donnio1234 on Sep 26, 2011 4:07 PM EDT up reply actions

Here's to 14 healthy games

I think they were smart to hold him out until he was healthy. The eagles made this mistake of bring Vick back too soon last night (I saw multiple reporters who said he didn’t look right even before the hand injury). I think the Cowboys are making a mistake bringing Romo back tonight. Better to be safe and wait a week or two rather than risk an injury dragging on the entire season.

Multiple players describe the "most amazing play" they've ever seen.

Apparently the bears ran a play worthy of UKskinsfan yesterday. They knew, based on tendencies, that the packers would punt to the left side of the field. They had Devin Hester and all the blockers go to the right side of the field. Hester pretended to make a fair catch on the right side of the field. Meanwhile, the bears had Johnny Knox pretend to be blocking the gunner on the left side of the field. Knox ran back on the left side and fielded the punt. All of the packers cover team were fooled by the fake and went after Hester on the right side. Only their punter saw that Knox had the ball as he sprinted for a TD.

The play was called back for holding on the bears, one of their blockers held on the fake return.

Darrel Young is out tonight

Kelli Johnson also said Cooley will move to TE. Not sure why Sellers or Logan Paulsen wouldn’t take that spot. In Shanny we trust I guess.

What?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H-back

An H-Back is an offensive position in American football, and is also known as power back. The position is a hybrid of a fullback and a tight end. The position was made notable in the NFL by the Washington Redskins under head coach Joe Gibbs who ran a two tight end system.

And Wikipedia calls a fullback

a running back. I’ve seen running backs and Cooley is no running back. He was used as a blocker and receiver. He was used in the H-back because the h-back position required Cooley to read defenses on the fly and so requires a good football IQ. I figure the reason Cooley is in is because the Skins plan to pass the ball. Shanahans offense seems geared towards using the run to set up the passing attack. Hightower is there for his pass blocking as much as his running. In Grossman we must trust, which sort of feels like a bank hiring ex-cons to guard the vault.

Now Vick's hand is just bruised... not broken.

What’s with the medical misinformation?

Romo had an ingrown hair… and they caled it “punctured lung”!
Vick broke a nail… they called it a “fractured hand”!
Manning had a learning disability… well… this one was true… but…

I’m tired of these QBs inflating their medical conditions!!!

by 1x1an on Sep 26, 2011 5:37 PM EDT reply actions

Xray versus CT scan

they said on an Xray and blood vessel across the bone could appear to be a fracture. That’s why they followed up with the more accurate CT.

by ThrowItDownBigManThrowItDown on Sep 26, 2011 5:50 PM EDT up reply actions

The whole report sounds funny...

Blood vessels do not show up on X-rays. Of course, CT scans are much more accurate and are the go to imaging when looking at bones. If a blood vessel does show up, it is painfully obvious it is a blood vessel. I look at x-rays of people all day, and they aren’t worth a hundred mil, and I would be able to tell the difference between a fx and a blood vessel.
