NFL Week 3 Sunday Open Thread

With no Redskins action this Sunday, I thought it would be good to open up a thread if anyone wants to talk some football.

high risk/reward

I had Hillis in my work league, luckily Ingram is my 4th RB in that league.

maybe, but

You really want ANOTHER receiver?

Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

He's 25 and a tremendous playmaker

I mean how long do you expect Moss, Gaffney, Stallworth, etc to be here?

Not to mention

Gaffney, Stallworth, Armstrong, {insert any Redskins WR besides Moss} are all 2nd or 3rd tier scrubs who probably wouldn’t even crack most NFL starting lineups.

You had me at Helu..

isn't that what

They said about Brandon Lloyd? Look, I’m not really doubting him. All I’m saying is we’ve been begging for the team to develop our own talent for years. We finally have some waiting in the wings now, so why bring in another high priced free agent? Isn’t that the old way of doing business? Personally, I’d just assume stay away from the top tier free agents for awhile. Unless its a young stud O-lineman.
Now, that said, if Dez Bryant were to become available……

Haha. I know I’m gonna catch shit for that.

Dez Bryant? The Dez Bryant w/ 3 career starts? The malcontent? The guy that's always hurt?

You get upset about Stevie Johnson but try to make a case for Dez Bryant?

And who said that about Brandon Lloyd? And how can you compare that situation? Lloyd averaged 500 yards per year and 4 TDs. Stevie Johnson almost eclipsed that alone just last year.

Good luck getting a young stud O-lineman via FA.

I hope the Bills beat the Pats

No particular reason, just want Fitzy to be successful :S

Question: Woody, what happened to the ball movement? Answer: I think our defense was pretty solid tonight. We held them to under 200 points so we did our job on that end.

How do you feel now? They came back and did it! I just wish the Bears beat the Packers. The refs had some very strange calls in that one—both against the Bears.

Feels good!

I love the Bills/Lions/Browns; they’re all my second team after the Skins, haha.

My best friend is a Packers fan, so I’m a little biased. ;)

Since the Eagles are probably the toughest competition in our division...

.. I’m rooting for the Giants. Not Manning, just the Giants. If they can somehow win while Eli lays an egg, that would be great. Seeing the dejected faces he makes is just so enjoyable.

How is it possible that the Eagles, allegedly the greatest team ever assembled in the history of organized sports, are losing a game???

What will Vicks have more of by the end of the year

TDs vs Injuries vs complains in the Media?

It will be tight

by a hay on Sep 25, 2011 7:12 PM EDT up reply actions

After the game Vick was whining how the refs aren't protecting him

as they do other QBs – mentioning late hits, blows to the head, etc. Sort of weird because the hit on which he got hurt seemed legitimate (and his hand injury an accident), as was the one last week. Even Tony Dungy appeared to not support him, and all the guys on the show seemed to think the problem was with the Eagles, and specifically, the offensive line. Michael may be psyching himself out. It gives me hope that we might be able to beat the Eagles on 10/16.

Fitzpatrick is finally clicking, I need him to get a bunch of points.

I can’t believe I left the Viking’s D on my bench, I thought Stafford would be pooping on them but nooooo, since I benched the Vikes they have to have over 40 points. ass holes.

Stuck in california

So I’m watching the bengals and 49ers and trust me when I say the 49ers are bad, shucks begs the question of how bad Dallas is to have to come back and win in OT? Two games have shown Dallas really isn’t good. I don’t who the root for in the giants eagles game. Want to see giants in the basement, but want to see the eagles punched in the mouth.

Yes fragile. Vick is constantly hurt. The guy is not that big and is constantly injured, whether a nagging injury or an injury which holds him out of the game. Yes fragile.

Did anyone notice Andre Carter?

I wonder how that is working out for him too.

I always liked him….I just knew that once we switched to a 3-2 def, his time at Washington was up (since that was the reason he left the Niners for).

Bears penalty on TD kickoff return

Can anyone figure out what the hell the ref was looking at when he called back the TD because of a supposed hold? No one was even near the guy he called it on. I sure hope the Redskins don’t come up against some whacky calls like that. I’ll go ballistic.

The Vikings Blog "Daily Norseman" is exploding about McNabb...

The bloggers are clamoring for the team to sit McNabb and start the rookie Ponder.

It only took them 3 games… we waited until December… and still some thought it was crazy to sit him for Grossman.

by 1x1an on Sep 25, 2011 8:37 PM EDT reply actions

because his name is McNabb and the other guy’s name is Grossman. most people love to base their “knowledge” on what happened 5 years ago. McNabb sucks. the last two head coaches who saw his every single one of his snaps on film got rid of his ass.
