Another formerly productive Redskins to...

Andre Carter to Pats.  He can hang out w/ Al.  Kudos to the dude who predicted it from Football Outsiders.  I think that this will be a good fit for Andre and he will have a very strong season.  I always really liked the guy, too bad he became flotsam in the rushed 4-3 to 3-4.  Interesting to see Pats working the system to the players vs. vice versa...anyway, good luck Andre!  Hope you stub a toe before game with us though.

Great guy... just didn't fit the 3-4.

He’s 32yo, I doubt they gave him a 30MIL contract like we did. Probably one of those 1-year contracts that the Eagles have made so popular this year.

And in unrelated news....

My wife was watching some food show competition on fox with that Gordon guy….who is in the audience but Andre Carter! I am missing him more already.

Hell's Kitchen

saw that too. Don’t know what he was eating, but apparently it was really tender…Haynesworth’s feelings perhaps.

I was less excited...

When 10 min later they also had Matt Leinart eating there and described (incorrectly I believe) as an NFL player. I was hoping for Andre C. that he was at least C-list but that is definitely D or F list celebrities that they are calling in.

EX - F**KIN-ACTLY
Interesting to see Pats working the system to the players vs. vice versa

This is my issue with the Shanahans, they seem to think that there systems are things of such epic genius that the players do not matter as it is the system that is king, whereas supposedly arrogant Bill Belicheck ALWAYS tweeks his systems to suit the individual strengths of his players

good coaches tailor their system to their talent. period.

Shanahan has obviously done the opposite, from McNabb to the 3-4

Time will show which is more successful.

At least on defensive front 7s it appears as though the players with 3-4 experience can move to 4-3 schemes

easier than the other way around. The Pats may have been outside the top ten as a 3-4 team and it looks like they have reversed course to the 4-3 base. Some players are versatile enough to play in either scheme, but guys like Carter are not. Haynesworth was likely chosen by BB so that the Pats could make the switch. BB has not exactly been tailoring “their system to their talent,” but predetermined that he was switching the teams’ scheme and went out and found players that would make it work.

Heck of a Rush Line

They can all play whatever system is in place ….. just rush the QB. period ……
