how the hell are you supposed to judge or be able to assess a quarterbacks performance based on a series? The offense has to be given at least three or four series with the same quarterback to develop a rhythm.

I love the decision to start Rex even though I was fine with either Qb starting. After the Colts game I was getting more comfortable with the possibility of Beck being our starter but this is good news to me.

This team had better score north of 20-23 points this game, or we do have some serious problems.

As a Ravens fan
I don’t care about the preseason. If you think we won 34-31 or lost 21-14 it really doesn’t matter they don’t give out awards for football in August.
The general thought is that this is all a count down until we play the Steelers
Personally I don’t see the Ravens making the playoffs, but I’ve been wrong before.

A couple things I took away from the game. McIntosh and Blades can’t play in a 3-4, both should go. The staff was extremely concerned about Jenkins and this is a big indicator of his value. Shanny had a giant sigh of relief when Gano made the long field goal. He is praying the guy can get it together. Our punt coverage needs to learn how to cover long kicks, Sav had plenty of hang time but we were not closing well. If we can’t cover, he will need to use directional kicks. I don’t think we should cut Thompson (CB), he has big upset as a cover corner. Austin is a lock for the team and has potential to be an excellent slot receiver. I loved the pancake block by Silverback on Lewis on the long TD run by Hightower. I also loved the fact that he was jawing at guys. He can emerge as a big-time leader!
We might have just lost Jarvis Jenkins for the year according to Phillip Daniels...

the fact is
with knee injuries you don’t know the extent of the injury until it is MRI. Him walking means not-a-thing. I was hoping from the discussion of the “sprain” during the game, that he had a reassuring physical exam (i.e. no instability)

Maybe even the 3rd Receiver. Battlilng Armstrong.
My assesment
3 preseason games with 3 great games for the redskins. i’ve seen a hungry defense that looks outstanding. everyone playing with fire and continuity. i never get souped over preseason games but with being a redskins fan for years, i can only be happy at the direction this team is heading in. I like the fact that no one’s counting on us to be a factor this year. that’s cool. but i’ll tell you this, going up against 3 very good teams being, the redskins held their own. i kept hearing gruden saying: how we stole or are trying to play our defense like the steelers, and i say…….hey if it’s working then call it what you want. No one wants to give us props. even some fans. that’s cool as well. but trust me folks this is no fluke. everyone wants to say baltimore was off, well just maybe the skins defense had something to do with it. Rex looked good, Beck looked good. was everything perfect? No. but this is where the coaches get to do their job and make the necessay changes. I wish hank could’ve got first string reps. I would have love to see him get a lob in the endzone!
