In the end, Jason La Canfora was right, the Redskins did want Barry Cofield.  It was well-documented that the Giants didn't want to give Cofield his asking price and that always leads to... the Redskins.

Rich Campbell tweeted that it's a six year $36 million dollar contract with $12.5 million guaranteed.  Well, at least this time we paid a DT less overall money than the guaranteed money to Fat Albert.  

No ones quite sure yet where he will fit in... there's talk that Haslett has the same plan for Cofield that he had for Albert Haynesworth: move him around between DE and NT.  

I'm still not sure how I feel about this deal, but at least he's only 27.
