Who's The Worst Redskins Safety Of All-Time

PrintTo the reader who was asking where Ifeanyi Ohalete was on the all-time greatest safeties list...he wasn't there because he's on this list. Truth be told it's sometimes difficult to select and narrow down the worst selections. It's much easier to select the all-time best players. I think this is a 4 horse race with Mark Carrier, Raphel Cherry, James Washington and Adam Archuleta. I kind of expect Archuleta to run away with this in the same way Sean Taylor did with the all-time best crown. You can get some background information on each player here...we have a murderer among the selections. The top 2 vote-getters will make our final all-time worst roster.

I'd probably go with Ohalete.
He was comically bad on the field and the whole Clinton Portis jersey number thing was a great way to cap off his Washington career.
I can’t vote for Archuleta, not just because his wife was ridiculously hot, but also because he was put in some stupid positions as a safety by Gregg Williams’ atrocious attempt at running a Cover-2 in 2006. Everyone knew the guy was a more “in the box” type of safety (and the Redskins definitely overpaid for the guy), but he was made into a scapegoat for larger problems with that defense just because of his contract. I’m pretty sure that at one point, he was actually leading the team in tackles before he got benched.

Don't forget
he was a dismal flop after he left here and went to his next team. Vote for him and stick with the wife. The fact the Skins overpaid for him is nothing new. They overpaid for almost everyone.

No suprises there
Archuleta was always a terrible move that made no sense, and what made it worse was the refusal to give Clark even a moderate contract the year before which would have saved this whole mess from happening.
Ohalete and Carrier have no business on this list
both were solidly mediocre for us, placing them well out of the running for worst of all time

Kareem Moore got off easy
So did Stanley Richard. I’d take Carrier over both those clowns.
