Vonnie Holliday: "Most Of What You Hear About Haynesworth Is True"

A picture from last year at the US Capitol when Ken and I interviewed several NFL players at a NFLPA event, including Vonnie Holliday.

Doug Ramey of FatPickled.com and I had a fantastic 30 minutes of one-on-one time with the Redskins' NFLPA rep, Vonnie Holliday, on our weekly Pickled Hogs Radio show last night. I highly recommend listening to it in its' entirety. Ramey transcribed a good portion of it, which you can read here. In that post, Holliday answers our CBA and Haynesworth questions. Here's a tidbit on Haslett's recent comments about Haynesworth:

You know I did get a chance to see that and I was a little surprised by that. I know there's not alot of talk going on in football right now, but to have that candid of a conversation,by the defensive coordinator, I was a little surprised. I know we've had those conversations before. I was certainly surprised that he went on and was that frank about things. We all know what kind of guy Albert is. And problems that he's had with the Redskins. You know alot of stuff unfortunately that you hear is true, it is. Here's a guy Albert Hanesworth, the disappointing part of Albert is...this guy could be one of the most dominating defensive players to play the game. [FatPickled]

Do your business, but when you go on the field I just need to know that I’m going to get your best effort. You are going to give me 100%. And I can depend on you and you are going to be accountable and I’m going to give the same – that’s all I can ask. And that’s been my only problem with Albert, cause that has not been the case.

We all know he didn’t give 100%, but hearing it from a player hurts.

Wow. That just is… wow.

Talk about a damning indictment of Albert Haynesworth.

I've said it pretty much all along

He’s the Iconic Knucklehead. We need to move along and fast from this guy.

I agree at this point I don't care if he plays for the Eagles or not.

People are talking about him reeking havoc on us twice a year b/c he’ll be motivated, and it would be tough to watch, but who cares? Most people don’t expect a playoff run this year, so does it really matter if he’s on the Eagles or not this year? He’s also 30 years old, out of shape, and hasn’t really played meaningful football since 2008. He’ll likely be more of a detriment to the Eagles long term than help. I don’t care if Washburn is coaching him or not. Also him and Andy Reid could hit the buffet together.

That's what I've been saying

Let him be someone else’s cancer.
I’m not much of a drinker, but I will definitely pop open a beer and smile when I hear he’s been removed from our team.

If 100,000,000 dollars doesn't motivate his fat %#$in ass

I really don’t see playing against us twice a year as anymore motivation. Kick that number around a little bit guys. It’s pretty disgusting..

I don't mind playing #92 once a year...but not twice

If we release him, he’s worth Eagles/Boys/Giants signing just to let him loose those 2 games. You’ll know he’ll show up for that game.

Rabach vs Haynesworth is not something I want to watch.

Yea but how much damage is he really going to inflict when it matters?
  • We’re most likely not a playoff contender
  • He’s always injured
  • He’s out of shape
  • He’s getting old
  • He’s a cancer
  • No one in the locker room is going to like him coming in

What does it matter if he plays well against us for a year or two? Like I said it will be tough to swallow but does it matter?

I think we can agitate him enough to get him suspended for a few games at least.

Yea maybe he'll stomp on Rabach's head, it would be taking out two birds with one stone.

LOL

That’s F-ing funny!

We already lose once or twice every year to each of those teams anyway

so it’s not much of a difference. The rest of the time he would bring them down in many ways. He would be our inadvertent mole! LOL

We've won two total games in division the last two years...

If we lose it will have nothing to do with AH.

I would love for you guys to get Haynesworth

On Pickled hogs radio for an interview!!! I’m sure he wants to defend himself and it would be great to hear from him first hand about everything, I wouldn’t just abuse him but let him try and explain himself to the diehard ’skins en masse!

i have his agent's # in my cell...

You might have a shot since the show is called Pickled Hogs, he probably think it had something to do with food

Not the Redskins

I don't understand why you would not want to listen to him,

there were numerous times this past year where Haynesworth said he was able to play, but the coaches didn’t let him! We all know the guy is a cancer, I just want to here his views on everything that has happened during his time as a ’skin, and I want him to express it straight to the fan base!!!

by Toosy_13 on Jun 11, 2011 8:48 PM EDT up reply actions

Sorry

There’s absolutely nothing he could say that would justify any of the BS he’s pulled. I would LOVE to hear what he would have to say, though, just because it would be classic material I’m sure.

by DC2AZ99 on Jun 11, 2011 8:55 PM EDT up reply actions

That's really depressing

All of the talent in the world wrapped up in one lazy knucklehead. I don’t really think anything can get him motivated enough to actually perform against us twice a year. He might put enough effort in on a couple of downs, but other than that I would see him as being ineffective. Let him go somewhere else in our division and ruin their team.
