[ed update:] Here's the full transcript of the interview. Must read. Portis is very candid.
Following in the footsteps of Carlos Rogers, former Redskins running back Clinton Portis went on SiriusXM's Late Hits with Brian McGovern and Maurice Jones-Drew yesterday and proclaimed he would like to have a shot at the Skins twice a year.
"To go to the Giants and get to play the Redskins twice a year after them feeling I wasn’t capable any more, I think that would be outstanding,"
Portis also mentioned a desire to play with a top level quarterback like the Eagles' Michael Vick. (He also mentioned Manning and Brady)
The good news is that Portis went on to praise coach Mike Shanahan and the direction that he is taking the team right now.
"I think for the situation that was going on in Washington for myself it was time to vacate," he said. "The organization was going in a different direction and I really think that Coach Shanahan is going to get the organization back on track and back to winning ways, which is what the people in Washington want to see."
It will certainly be interesting to see where Clinton ends up this year, I for one wish him all the best.
The rest of what Clinton said can be found in Rich Tandler's article HERE. There are certainly some interesting tidbits on CP's time in DC.
