Almost a year ago the Skins made the trade with the Philadelphia Eagles to acquire McNabb and like every offseason there was a new hope for this team and fans getting there hopes up. Today now the attitude has changed. The Skins ended another disappointing season and we saw Coach Shannahan bench the team savior for Grossman for the final 3 games of the season. Now leaves the question are we ready to pull the plug on McNabb after 1 season? I don't think so....Here is why? There isn't a better option...To suggest a trade or just releasing isn't logical move as we don't know if there is a team willing to take him and don't know what there willing to give the Skins. Trading a player like McNabb you are going to want a high draft pick or someone of equal value and why would you let go your best QB on the roster? If you think Grossman is better based off 3 games you will have a legitimate argument but, seriously Grossman? You compare the two and McNabb has better numbers and career and has better chances of leading this team than him. Despite the low number of TD passes he was on track to pass for 4,000yds which we haven't seen out of a Skins starting QB in who knows how long, also his completion pct% was down compared to his career in Philly but can point out alot of it was attributed to receivers dropping passes. After watching highlights, reading analysis on high profile QB's in the draft and combine I'm not comfortable with either of them coming here as the starting the QB. I feel better getting a Christian Ponder or Mcelroy to be a backup learning the offense behind a McNabb. I would like to see an emphasis of improving there run game and bring in some talanted playmakers on offense to boost production. Lets see what McNabb can do going this direction before we pull the plug on him.
