Daily Slop: Reed Doughty. "The last 4 games mean everything to this organization and the fans."

Remember when the Redskins had character? - DC Sports Bog
"The Redskins don’t want to admit they’re rebuilding, much less concede two players have a problem," Rick Snider wrote. "Show some pride. Show some community leadership and face the suspension with honesty and humility. Otherwise, it’s just another stain on a once-proud organization that no longer deserves its followers."

The Redskins Blog | New York Jets In The Rear View Mirror
"We’re trying to build a team," said Redskins safety Reed Doughty. "The last four games mean everything to this organization, to the fans, to you as a player as you’re evaluated, and what you’re trying to put on film. Next year, we need to see the young guys step up and we need the old guys really to take leadership. I take pride in trying to put a football team out there every week. We’re out to win, we’re not just going out there."

Some great insight in here on Grossman and Doughty. It's clear the Redskins cannot endure another year with Grossman as the starter.

"If the Philadelphia Eagles actually believe the final four games of this season might mean something, they should release Vince Young immediately and sign McNabb." (ouch).

The Giants are sure the calls did not go their way in Sunday’s last-second 38-35 loss to the still-undefeated Packers. And, at least in one case, they have the picture to prove it.

I'm Rex, founder of the Dragon Kwon Do quarterbacking system! After one week with me in my dojo, you'll be prepared to defend yourself with the strength of mediocrity, the reflexes of a sloth, and the wisdom of a Shanahan. So come down today for your free-trial lesson!

So I wasn't the only one

Who noticed Rex had an awful game? Wow.

Moving on…..

Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

I'm not so sure

The part in article about Reed Doughty is %100 accurate. He is ok in the box but his tackling is spotty at best, and he can’t cover. He would not start for any other NFL team.

I agree

His tackling is definitely over rated, though its hard to fault him. He is no different than most players these days. Tackling is a lost art. After watching that Sean Taylor video last week, it became more evident than ever. Players just don’t know how to wrap up anymore. All they do is duck their heads and dive low, hoping for a “kill shot”. Unfortunately, our strong safeties are two of the guiltiest players of this behavior.

Here's Bob Ford's problem right here:
If the Philadelphia Eagles actually believe the final four games of this season might mean something

Hi Bob, pro tip: THEY DON’T mean anything.

While I think the Giants probably DID get robbed the "proof" photo is nothing of the sort.

Ballard isn’t down at that point, because his knew is a good inch and a half off the ground. Without seeing MOTION (to see how fast he was moving out of bounds versus down), he could have been:

- Inside the field of play by an inch and a half, and it was an egregious call.
- Outside the field of play by as much as four or five inches and it was a good call.
- Somewhere in between, where the refs and a MOTION picture of it stopped frame by frame might show where the knee went down.

Until I see an animated gif showing the knee DOWN, I haven’t seen anything to overule the play call that he was out of bounds. This photo certainly doesn’t do it.
