Andrew Luck Poll

Luck seems to be a sure thing. I say if we dont trade up to get him this year we shouldn't draft a QB--unless RGIII falls into our laps. I would be okay with trading a lot of this years draft picks and a couple guy from this years squad to move up. Maybe LaRon Landry would be a good bargaining chip? I love LaRon, one of my favorite players, but he cant seem to stay on the field. That being said he is a beast and should be worth something in a trade.

There are some guys I think should be untouchable: Ryan Kerrigan, Brian Orakpo, Rex Grossman, Trent Williams, Fred Davis, Perry Riley, Roy Helu should all be untouchable.

Maybe a package like this would work: LaRon Landry, Santana Moss, Our 1st rd pick(swap), 5th, 6th, 7th

In return we get the 1st pick and either Blair White, Anthony Gonzalez, Austin Collie or Pierre Garcon

Star-divide

If we dont end up trading up I think we need to take a RB in one of the first three rounds. Helu is solid but for his size and the way he runs he's not going to hold up getting 20+ carries every game.

If we get Luck here's how I think the draft should go--

(listed by most important most important/less/less

1st round--OL/Vontaze Burfict.

2nd round--RB/OL/LB

3rd Round--WR/RB/SS

4th Round--LB/SS

5th Round--CB

6th Round-OL/WR

7th Round--WR/OL

EDIT: Ok since everyone has their panties in a knot because my offer was shit, what if we threw in 2 1st's and 2 3rds?

And the Rex Grossman thing was a joke. Fuck, shouldn't that be obvious?

Another under-valuation of the #1 overall pick

You really think you can trade draft picks from rounds 5-7, plus LaRon (a banged up, underachieving SS) and Santana Moss (an aging, undersized former speedster WR) for Andrew Luck?

And the Colts will throw in Pierre Garcon?

This trade scenario is laughable as it stands, even though you completely disregard the fact that LaRon Landry is a FA after this season…..he may sing anywhere and we won’t have him as a bargaining chip at all.

Get real about what it will cost to acquire Andrew Luck and then you can have a meaningful discussion of the possibilities of acquiring him

no to "no matter what"

this is how suckers get played.

Sorry

Leron Landry is not a bargaining chip. If somebody really wants him, they will pursue him in free agency

Sorry again

There is no way the Colts/Rams would accept LaRon Landry, Santana Moss, Our 1st rd pick(swap), 5th, 6th, 7th. Luck would likely cost

2012: 1st, 2nd, 3rd round
2013, 1st, 2nd, 3rd round
2014: 1st

ugh I just saw in my mind Cerrato giving up this kind of trade for Luck plus 2015's 1st and 2nd

i dont

But if Palmer cost 2 first round picks, I think Luck will cost a lot more.

When I first saw the headline...

I was getting excited. But then I read the proposal….

What word in the English language can I use to describe the “airhead, birdbrain, blockhead, bonehead, bubblehead, chowderhead, chucklehead, ignoramus, imbecile, jackass, know-nothing, knucklehead, lamebrain” idea this is? (thank you Webster’s)

Whenever I have discussed my wish to trade up for Luck, I, at least, attempt to be reasonable. TW, if your scenario was anywhere near realistic, everyone would do it. But, sorry man, this is laughable.

sorry,

it is hard to tell when someone is joking or being serious on this blog….

Who knows how much Luck will cost

Whether it be the Colts or Rams with the No. 1 pick, it’s going to cost a lot of draft picks. I see the Colts still taking Luck if they have it and not trading back. A possible trade of draft picks and players could only happen if the Rams have the No. 1 pick. If the Rams don’t trade back, then the Redskins will have to find a suitor to draft RGIII. Either way, Shanahan should attempt to trade up for either Luck or RGIII if it’s not TOO expensive.
If it’s too expensive, Shanahan will take a WR, CB, or OT instead in the first round.
I like that there is still a focus on the secondary in the draft, but I think Shanahan holds off on taking an RB until the later rounds.

Define "too expensive"

And if the Redskins trade up to #1, we’ll be able to focus on all our positions in the later rounds of the draft for a couple years

Define "too expensive"

I’m not opposed to trading up to No. 1, but who knows how much it will take to do that. Obviously it will be expensive, but only Shanahan can make the decision on what exactly ‘too expensive’ is. Based on his past drafts, I can see Shanahan putting a package deal to to trade up, but won’t trade the house.

How about trding up to #3 , for RG3 .

Do you think the Vikings would take this years 1st , next years 2nd , and D-Hall , for the #3 pick ?
Colts will take Luck .
Rams love Bradord , and need both weapons , and protection for him They won’t take RG3 at #2 .
Vikes would still get a top 5 pick , and a starting pro-bowl CB , and a 2nd rounder for next year .

by EldonD on Dec 30, 2011 5:29 PM EST reply actions

We dont really want DHall

why would they?

after watching the game last night

i dont see rg3 going past the 2nd pick.. even with spys on him and was running away most of the night rolling out to both sides throwing darts all over the place. and i heard that was a off night from him???? i think our chances to get him now is slim to nil

cost of the #2 pick

I just read somewhere (nfl.com?) that if we have the #10,
the #2 pick this year would cost our 1st, 2nd, and next year’s
1st. If we have the #7, it might be 1st, 3rd, and 1st. If RGIII
comes out I’d say pull the trigger. Shanahan have tried
trades and sticking with scrubs at QB; this is his only choice
anyway. Except he really liked Bradford; the Rams will
have new management and may want RGIII for himself
(assuming he comes out). Bradford could cost less.
(Still 2 1st, at least.) We’ve fleeced the Rams a bit in the
past — I say pay them and get on with it.

by formerbroncosfan on Dec 30, 2011 8:12 PM EST reply actions

That sounds reasonable.

I say pull the trigger on that one.

I see it as more cushion for the pushin'

I wouldn't pay 1 1st.

His contract is disgusting and is play in his 2 years is meh.
