Redskins' Kyle Shanahan fine with all his critics | John Keim
"I expect to get criticized," he said. "I expect it from you guys. I expect it from my wife, and I expect it from myself. It's embarrassing. I've never been shut out before, and I don't ever want it to happen again, but it is what it is, and you've got to man up and deal with it." Yes, even from his wife. "She was pretty short with me," he said. "She said run the ball more." (OK, NOW IT's EMBARRASSING).

WR order this week should be:

1. Hankerson
2. Paul
3. Austin
4. Gaffney

Let’s see what they can do.

Yeah lets do that. Maybe we can bring Marko Mitchell back also and have Colt throw to them.

by Jeff Bernard on Nov 4, 2011 9:14 AM EDT up reply actions

So you'd rather have Stallworth jogging around and tripping over himself.

And Gaffney dropping every other catchable pass.

Brilliant choice.

I think Gaffney has actually been pretty solid, despite the mishap in Carolina

He had a good thing going with Rex.

but you have to admit the Stallworth comment was pretty spot on

Yea I don't get Stallworth, Galloway 2.0... not sure what Shanny is doing.

I wonder how much McCardell plays into this? I hope none, but who knows.

A thought on the WRs

Is it possible that Shanny kept all these WRs because throughout preseason, played better with Rex wghile others played better with Beck? I just thought it was interesting that we started seeing Hank and Donte when Beck came in, but with Rex it was a different set. Maybe I’m wrong, but does anyone else think that may have been part of it? just a thought.

Gaffney has been dropping catchable passes every single game.

I wish I could find a stat that counted how many time sit has happened this season.

What i am complaining about is people always assuming the best guys are the ones who are not starting. There is a reason why starters start and bench players ride the pine. The coaches see how these guys practice everyday and they know who knows the routes and who will perform best on Sundays. Fans love to call for the backup because they aren’t satisfied with the starter. How did that John Beck thing work out so far? When the season is tanked then you can play all the rookies you want. However, i don’t think the veterans on the team want to start rookies for starting rookies sake. How would Gaffney feel when coach says “yeah we are going with Hank and Paul because you outperform them every week in practice but a couple guys on HogsHaven are calling for rookies so we are playing the rookies”

by Jeff Bernard on Nov 4, 2011 10:28 AM EDT up reply actions

When did i mention Stallworth? I am commenting on your numbering system. I assume #1 and #2 means they will be on the field for just about every play. Those two have done nothing to be starters on an NFL team. Should they get more playing time? Sure. Should they start? Hahaha, thats funny.

by Jeff Bernard on Nov 4, 2011 10:02 AM EDT up reply actions

If you think the new guys can't start, then Stallworth, Gaffney and Armstrong are your only options...doi!

Armstrong hasn’t done squat this year. Stallworth is a liability and Gaffney won’t stop dropping passes.

I think your continued trust in those lame ducks is what’s really funny.

"If a man speaks and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong???"

by ThuGodfather on Nov 4, 2011 10:27 AM EDT up reply actions

Its not my trust in them at all. Its the professional NFL coaches trust who i am basing my opinion on. You know the guys who get paid to coach NFL football. The ones who know more about football and how these guys practice than me and you combined times 100. I know from your comments you are one of these “i am smarter than NFL coaches” types so i will stop trying to convince you that they know more than you.

by Jeff Bernard on Nov 4, 2011 10:31 AM EDT up reply actions

Ah yes, let's trust coaches no matter how stupid their mistakes may be.

Kyle sure sure knows what he’s doing giving Stallworth so much attention.

Speaking of quarterback scenarios for next off-season and draft…

What if the Rams find themselves with the first pick overall next year?
I’ve got to believe that they would think about drafting lUck with a rookie pay scale and trading away Sam Bradford and his huge contract.
What team do you think might have room for Bradford and his contract?

This might also work if the Colts had the first pick, but Manning is not a long-term solution at this point.

The world looks mighty different when you're peeking out your belly button

by Skins Fan '77 on Nov 4, 2011 9:47 AM EDT reply actions

They Will Keep Bradford, in all likelihood

I understand your logic, but understand that they have already paid quite a bit of Bradford’s guaranteed money. I can’t remember they specific dollar figure, but in essence, it would cost them the same to draft Luck or Keep Bradford.

Unless you are 100% positive that Luck is the next Peyton Manning and your confidence in Bradford has wavered, it doesn’t make sense to draft Luck in that spot. You would keep your seasoned young QB who you have invested a lot of money in, trade the #1 spot and surround your young QB with weapons

by StephanHart on Nov 4, 2011 9:53 AM EDT up reply actions

When you put it that way

I think that makes even more sense.
You are going to get Andrew at a lower cost unless he becomes the next Peyton Manning. You have no guarantee that Bradford will at this point and he is expensive no matter what.

You’re also going to get at least a first round draft choice when you trade Bradford-I don’t see how you could not very strongly consider this as an option, especially if a team like the Redskins offers you some very nice draft picks.

The world looks mighty different when you're peeking out your belly button

by Skins Fan '77 on Nov 4, 2011 9:59 AM EDT up reply actions

Hmmm, I don't know if you got my point

Bradford and Luck will cost the same going forward…what you’ve already paid Bradford is a sunk cost. Also, Andrew Luck will probably command more draft picks in a trade than Bradford.

So my point was that, for the same amount of money, you can keep the QB who has grown and become comfortable in your offense for 2 years, and gain more draft picks that you can use to build a powerful offense and reinforce your defense.

This is why I think the Rams will keep Bradford if they garner the #1 pick in the draft

by StephanHart on Nov 4, 2011 10:04 AM EDT up reply actions

here is my hope of this scenario...

I would be happy with either one, whomever the Rams decide to trade.

All we need is for the Colts and Dolphins to win a couple of wins. Am I dreaming?…….
