Ask Field Gulls (the Seahawks fanbase)
Hello Hogs Haven! I'm Corax from Field Gulls. Here you can ask anything you want about our team. Me or one of the other Field Gulls members will probably be around to answer your questions!
A few things about our team:
Our Pass D used to be a weakness. Now it's an area of huge improvement, with a 5th round rookie and an ex-CFLer keeping receivers in check. They have yet to be seriously tested through, STL is a hurting team who's been decimated by injuries.
Our offense relies on TJack not screwing it up for us....
Marshawn Lynch has turned into a real pain to stop recently. Someone lighted a fire under his rear end when they started talking about contract extensions.
Our receivers haven't been as productive b/c of TJack and his pec injury. Sidney Rice is a better QB than he is. Ha.
Our defense is pretty good. Shut-down good, but still growing.
Well, ask away!

Rec'd, Happy Thanksgiving, and sorry to hear about Don Anderson's passing.
I guess I want to ask about the portion of the Squawks roster that hasn’t been talked about very much…the receivers and TEs. Does it look like Rice and/or Obamanu will play? Will they be limited? What can you tell me about Doug Baldwin? He seems to quietly be having a good season.
Looks like Zachary Miller hasn’t done much based on the stats, but I can’t say I’ve paid much attention. Any insight?
Finally, any word on Alan Branch?
At least I'm not a whiny, little bitch.
Rice will play, he's good to go
Obo is a question mark, which’ll hurt us but will probably get Golden Tate more involved. Doug Baldwin is easily a frontrunner for UDFA of the year – he’s fifth in the league in pass plays over 20 yds. He’s very fast, runs excellent routes, and knows where to lay down in the zone. All intangibles that you simply can’t teach. Love him.
Zach Miller has slowly been getting more involved in the pass game, but he’s been left in more to block this year so far. He’s done a pretty good job of it, too – on Justin Forsett’s run last week, on the replay, you see his great block on the safety to open up that side of the field for the RB.
Alan Branch was a DNP on Wednesday, so he looks to be a game-time decision but I’d expect him to play. He’s got some sort of ankle issue.

Thanks
Good stuff.

I have a sadface on right now...
GB and Det wasn’t as good as it was touted out to be at all…can you believe that you’d have to go back to ‘03 for Det’s last win on Thanksgiving? Sheesh.

I've had a sadface
Ever since Barry Sanders retired.

If you could have one player from our roster.....who and why?
If I could pick one player for our team from your roster, it would be your C Matt Unger or maybe your LT Okung. With Okung…..I would have T.Williams and him battle it out as the top 2 T taken from the 2010 draft…..loser is starting RT. Unger seems pretty consistent. A lot of people will want Rice or Lynch….but I still want to see what we have in our youth at those spots…although Rice could fill a need right now w/ all our WR youth hurt. Lynch is a hard runner…and although he would be an upgrade right now, I don’t think he would be here when this team is good in a couple seasons…at least not in a feature role!

To be honest
I don’t know much about the individual players on the Redskins’ roster. Who do you think your best player is? He’ll probably be it.

Thinking about it, if you have some good OL players, send 'em over
we could use them right now

HA, you really don't know our roster then....
We have got a couple of linemen we would love to send you for the game on Sunday. We have Trent, I think most of us see Trent and Okung as being about equal. We have been keeping a half an eye on Okung because it was a pretty big debate on which LT we should take at #4 that year. Everybody else is average at best….on a good day.

I would want Brian Orakpo, no question.
I wanted him in the 2009 draft but former GM drafted Aaron Curry instead, who was a huge bust.
I used to want Laron Landry but Kam Chancellor has stepped up ably as the starting strong safety.

You might be looking at the wrong OLB.....
Rak is a beast, but look out for Kerrigan. If you haven’t taken notice of him yet I have a feeling you will know very well who he is after Sunday.

I know who Kerrigan is.
But Orakpo is a proven Pro Bowl talent.

Kerrigan has outperformed Orakpo.....
it hasn’t gotten much plublicity but it’s a fact.

Yeah....you're right.....
we are just fans of the team….what would we know!

Orakpo
Mainly because we only have one player who actually is useful in pass rushing and that’s Chris Clemons. Combine that with the fact that we rarely blitz and our sack totals will always be low.
I respect your opinion even though it's wrong.
That's funny you mention Clemons...
He’s an old Skin too.

"Dominate" is a verb.
We'll work on "Dominance" once we get the first two figured out.
Kevin....
I was going to put one for us up on Field Gulls but they have a 2 day (ridiculous) waiting period before you can post. SB Nation should find a way to see how long or how many posts someone has so they can wave those waiting periods to join other blogs.

I say Boz
mainly because he talked up opposing HoF players like an idiot. Curry just liked being uber religious in every tweet of his.

Curry and it isn't really up for debate.
Curry was drafted way earlier, hyped as the best LB prospect in a decade, had the biggest non-QB contract ever, and was simply a garbage football player. Boz was actually decent before tearing off his shoulder, Curry simply has no talent at all and will be out of the NFL very soon.
