What We Learned From The Dallas Game
- Roy Helu needs more touches
- When not throwing INT's, Rex is actuallly a pretty good QB (passer rating of 92)and clearly gives us the best chance to win.
- Stallworth and Gaffney are making their cases for best FA pickups this season.
- Cornerback is the greatest need on defense, because DeAngelo Hall can't cover worth s---
- Gano is not a clutch kicker.
- Other than that Gano's okay, kinda.
- You can't pin this loss on the Shanahans, which makes me think that maybe the other losses aren't their fault either.
- OJ has been too quiet this season in terms of stats.
- Haslett will probably be Shanahan's replacement when Shanny retires (because I don't think $nyder fires either of the two, and Kyle is clearly not ready yet.)
- The loss of Landry was felt by the defense.
- Byron Westbrook looks better than Hall right now.
- Trent kept Ware in line today. Brown? Not so much...
- The patchwork O-Line showed signs of brilliance today, but other than that...
- We have the best trio of TE's in the league.

He looks like he's ready to cry
Throughout the game.
- is why I don’t buy # 7 (completely)
Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.
I agree

Oh, and
- is hilarious. However, I will say, watching Vince Young tonight makes me realize Rex can be an adequate backup, and also be on a team that wins a game.
God I can’t believe I just said that.

You've said worse, I told you I was gonna save it...

That’s great. My left hand was fight my right hand while I was typing it.

He played good yesterday
But it is what it is. We love him for those moments, then the reality that Rex Grossman is our best option hits after every int/fumble/horrible attempt at scrambling.
I'm sold on Rex as the backup.
I didn’t need yesterday to sell me on that; he DOES know the Offense, and CAN be effective.
No way do I want him as the starter, mind you, except in an emergency, but as our backup, HECK YEAH. I was VERY much against “Sexy Rexy” when we got him, but he’s a higher quality QB than I thought he would be, and if we can get that guy in our draft, I’m more than happy right now with Rex as our backup for the next 6 years or so.

I dont know how much we really lost with landry not being in there I think Gomes had a quiet productive day. Racking up 13 tackles in your first start as a rookie isnt too shabby.
Gomes played much better than Landry did all season.
Landry’s absence was a blessing.
+1
Sometimes not going for the highlight reel hit all the time is a good thing.
I think he meant the D missed his flexing after every good Dallas play
He would have ripped his jersey flexing after Wittens TD.
Cut Brandon "Stabby" Banks. That is all.

Cowboy fan here ...
That was a beast of a game.
London Fletcher is a PITA
DeAngelo Hall is the Roy Williams of CB’s.
Grossman just had a good day
Rex has always been streaky and he just had one of his good days – just wait, he’s going to have more bad days before the season is over. I don’t mind Rex starting over beck but neither is a good long term solution – let’s not kid ourselves.
a good game
after i calmed down, i sat back and realized the skins played a hell of a game. yes it sucks that we lost against our known enemy, but what i took from that game was guys still came out and showed respect against a division/rival game. and at this point, what more can we ask. we all know we’re rebuilding, so it’s nice to see a good/hard fought game. right now guys are playing for spots next year. we get to see our rookies blossom, and we get to see who’s not going to be here next year.(cough,cough….DHALL, GANO) just give me a sweep of the giants and i’m ready for next year!
I certainly understand and respect this sentiment but
moral victories mean nothing to me.
Just say NO! to Rex Grossman.
Grossman and Gaffney played well, and I’m happy the ’Skins made it respectable. I just find in very difficult to build up any enthusiasm over Grossman, Gaffney, Stallworth, Choice, and Torrain, and a couple of the fatties up front.
On Defense I thought Riley played another good game (which is important for us) and thought Gomes did a good job in first game (made make some minor mistakes)
I have my ship
And all her flags are a flyin'
She is all that I have left
And music is her name
aww the D
what a difference a year makes. While they have had their flubs, I feel our D has been great considering what they have had to put up with. I am very excited about our young guys though- RyKer, Neild, Riley, Gomes stepping up.
Just say NO! to Rex Grossman.
