One night Mike Shanahan had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the field with Andrew Luck.
Scenes from the season flashed before his eyes in the night sky,
and in most of the scenes, he noticed two sets of footprints on the field;
one belonging to him, and the other to Luck.
But he noticed that during some of the most difficult games,
when Shanny needed him most, there appeared only one set of footprints on the field.
This bothered the coach, and he questioned Luck, saying;
Andrew, why have you forsaken me?
You promised me that if I mortgaged the next 3 years,
and traded up for you, that you could take me to the promised land,
yet in those tough games, when I needed you most, you were not there for me.
And Andrew replied, coach, you're like a father figure to me,
and I would never forsake you.
You see, all those times, in the difficult games,
when you see only one set of footprints on the field,
that is when I carried us.
