All I know

is Chandler Jones just raised his draft stock.

No games today

That interest me. I’m trying, I really am. But the college game is hard to like.

Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Wisconsin v Mich St. tonight... look at Wisconsin's O-line

Wisconsin has a dominant O-line. With one 3rd and two 4th round picks… one of them might end up here.

LT Ricky Wagner (2-3rd round prospect)
G Kevn Zeitler (3-4th round prospect)
C Peter Konz (3-4th round prospect)
RT Josh Ogleby (6-7th round prospect) “Value late round pick…underrated… dominant RT”

Yeah, I like

The Badgers’ line. I’d like to draft all five of ’em.

I’m not really interested in watching Luck. It’ll just piss me off knowing we can’t get him.

It's not a very good day for college football

The night games might be more interesting. Check out Stanford / Washington & imajine a QB like Luck in B&G or watch Wisc. & dream about a line like that or check out Tillers favorite QB in Oklahoma / Texas Tech.

No Luck for me

Not interested. I may check out Jones a little, but I’ll be watching the Caps. Dunno if I’ll be able to keep up with both. Got a free bottle of Grand Marnier this week that I plan on finding the bottom of tonight.

Jones showed me a lot

even in defeat. Oklahoma’s defense, and field coal kicker let them down tonight.

All I will say is that Landry Jones throws one hell of a ball. Granted he has Broyles and Stills, but still………..he is just an excellent, strong-armed, accurate passer.

If Luck is 1a. then Jones is 1b.

There’s going to be alot of future NFL startering QBs out of this draft.

But the college game is hard to like.

It is much easier to like than the NFL. Though I like them both.

The fans are much more passionate, the players aren’t a bunch of bi***hy millionaires, the stadiums are better (though there are still domes in college), much better tradition all around, pageantry puts the NFL to shame…etc., it goes on and on.

It's not the game itself

Its just the fact that it’s hard to find a good game all the time. I guess I’m probably a little jaded because I had gotten used to watching Arkansas, and their game wasn’t on today.

SEC Network showed the Arkansas-Ole Miss game today. It was a pretty good game. Though judging by your comment, you aren’t in the viewership range for the SEC Network.

Yeah, I saw my guy

Tyler Wilson pulled them outta the fire. All I could see we’re the ticker updates, though I don’t really know what happened, just that they stormed back.

I decided to settle on the Maryland game. Ugh.

Yeah, they played pretty good after being behind 17-0. Seemed to loosen up and as a result, play faster.

As for the Maryland-FSU game … it’s not over yet.

How did Wilson look?

Haha. The Maryland game was over before it started. Not unless Torrey Smith walks through that door. I settled on it when O’Brien came in. I like his arm. Too bad he can’t use it with the receivers he has.
What’s funny is, I originally decided to watch LSU-Auburn cuz I didn’t think MARYLAND would be competitive. Ha.

Wilson looked decent. It wasn’t like a high flying game for him by any means, but he got the job done and moved them down the field. More methodical this game than in the past.

LSU and Alabama, that’s what I’m waiting for.

It’s too bad Maryland couldn’t pull it out. They were hanging in there for a bit.

No they weren't.

Maryland was never in that game. FSU is breaking in freshmen on the O-line and trying to patch holes from injury, so they lost some focus and didn’t do much in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. But make no mistake, Maryland never at any point had a prayer of winning that game. FSU has a few nice winnable games coming up, then Miami (who is improving) and we’ll finish up in the Swamp. Wouldn’t be surprised to see us not lose another game this season.

by tuckwell on Oct 22, 2011 7:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Well, I meant like within 14 points for a bit. I bet on the game, had FSU -16 so I’m happy.

I said before the game today at TN that I expected FSU to just dismantle them in every facet.

Nah

They never really had a chance. Just way out-matched. FSU had too much speed for them. Too bad too, cuz I woulda liked to see O’Brien air it out some. His receivers are worthless.

I'll be interested in USC v Notre Dame too... I'm not a fan of either team... but...

Something tells me USC QB Matt Barkley might end up here…

and…

If Notre Dame ILB Manti Te’o falls to us… Shanny might take him in the 1st… and QB in the 2nd.

I’ll be majorly disappointed

I thinking Landry Jones falls to us

But if we could get Manti Te’o, that would be a nice guy to have learning from London Fletcher as he plays out his last couple of years.

by The Agent C 83 on Oct 22, 2011 2:33 PM EDT reply actions

Landry Jones will not "fall"

Unless we are sitting top 10, we won’t have a shot unless we trade up. Barkley could fall to us, but IMO, that would be a major mistake on our part to take him.

Jones would be awesome but after last night I think he solidified a top 5 spot. I don’t want Barkley at all. Hopefully Seattle is in front of us and takes him.

How on Earth did he solidify a top spot?

Up until the last drive he couldn’t complete anything down field. He had forever to throw and only could complete short passes. Whenever he had any pressure whatsoever, he folded. His stats were great, but he lost the game for his team. The more I watch him, the more he depresses me. He is looking more and more like Trent Dilfer; he will only be a game manager at the next level.

Nah. Tennessee-Alabama is where it is at. If not then, Texas Tech-Oklahoma. But, Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit could be announcing that Tech-Oklahoma game which of course means that it is unwatchable.

However, the point being that nothing Big 10 is ever “badass.” The last game that that conference ever had that was worth a damn was 2006 Michigan-Ohio State. Nearly 5 years ago.

Oklahoma is going to kill Tech.

Come on Wisconsin’s offense v Michigan St. defense. Tha’s a good match up.

Plus Aaron Rodger’s little brother is starting tonight v Army. See if he does the championship belt move.

Bama and Oklahoma probably will win convincingly, but I think that Wisconsin will as well. Michigan State is overrated IMO, but hey, I’ve been wrong before. I’ll watch the 2nd half a bit, if I see that the game is close. But if Brent Musburger is announcing it, I’ll watch it on mute.

As for Army-Vanderbilt, Jordan Rogers will be one to watch. Transferred from JUCO in California or something like that. Should be cool. But we play them in two weeks, so I’ll see him up close. Kind of excited for that.

Unless he craps the bed at some point

From now until April, you’re going to hear me talk up Ryan Tannehill. I want this guy, and he may be around in the 2nd round.

There are aspects of that Texas A&M offense that resemble ours, but the guy’s ceiling looks never ending to me. As of now, I’d be ok taking him in the 1st round (judging we pick from 14-18) and I definitely want him over the likes of Barkley.

We talk about Griffin shooting up draft boards, I think Tannehill does too. Every time I watch him play, I get one vote closer to becoming the Mayor of Boner City…

by Dammit Cerrato... on Oct 22, 2011 4:09 PM EDT reply actions

I am also a fan of Tannehill

Raw but extremely talented & athletic. He is also very intelligent, a 3.4 GPA majoring in Biology with plans to be an orthopaedic surgeon. It is still very early & he is very erratic but definitely a guy to keep an eye on

by ENsDad27 on Oct 22, 2011 5:26 PM EDT up reply actions

We don't need raw.

We don’t have three years for a guy to sit and develop. We need a guy who has polish, who can come in and at the very least take over midway through his rookie year.

by tuckwell on Oct 22, 2011 7:05 PM EDT up reply actions

I agree

I like Tannehill but he needs to sit for at least 2 years and I think we only sit our guy for a maximum of one year.

Hes not as raw as you might think

The only guy that looks like he could start as a rookie with some success is Luck, and I dont think hes much of an option.
Because of his transition from WR, theres this belief that hes so raw, but the merchanics, the foot work, the knowledge of the position, it all appearss to be there or at least isnt far away.
Id sit him his rookie year like I would any guy we’d draft than Id expect him to be ready. I think hes going to fly up the boards.

by Dammit Cerrato... on Oct 22, 2011 8:37 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

I disagree

I would be fine with sitting any QB that we draft, to let them learn & get up to the speed of the NFL. Take your lumps short term for the long term payoff of a franchise QB

a lot of talk about QBs falling...

i think Panthers will be in the prime position to trade back to Redskins or Seahawks or some team that needs a QB. not a fan of Barkley, but I’m high on Landry Jones. looks solid : )
