Pride Points Vol. III : It's a Conspiracy!!!

.) No, I don't truly believe it's a conspiracy. But, I do think there's something more to the starting/eventual benching of Rex Grossman. I understand the argument that Shanny started Rex at the beginning of the season because he knew what he was getting (regular-season-wise) out of him. But I have another theory. Slam me if you like, but I think MS saw more upside in starting Grossman (not because he was better), but to instill more motivation and drive into Beck through competition.

.) That's what Shanny is always preaching, competition. He loves how competition pushes everyone to try even harder and that no starting job is automatic. I know that he sees more upside in Beck when it comes to the future. So the only logic I see from starting Grossman is motivating Beck even more and to play that much harder when the inevitable happened, which is the benching of Rex. In hopes that Beck can be driven enough to perform at the next level.

.) Kyle Shanahan's offense has defenitely had its high points, but honestly, I'm just tired of all the questionable play calls at the wrongest (is that a word?) possible time. I feel like our play-calling on offense has been questionable in wins and awful in losses. What can be done about this? Is it time for MS to demote his own son? I mean, his statement on today's Daily Slop kills me. He pretty much said that Beck is different from Grossman in some ways but he's not going to capitalize on it. "I don't change," he says. His arrogance is really starting to annoy me.

.) As we all have been looking towards the draft pool of QBs, I've been hearing some positive things about Boise State's Kellen Moore. Primarily concerning his ability to read the defense. Something that is required in the NFL to ultimately become successful, a la Rex Grossman. I would consider drafting him if he was available in the third round, maybe even a late second. Anyone else? Or is everyone still wearing Robert Griffin III goggles?

.) I can't wait until this Monday when the media does another 180 if we beat the Panthers/Beck plays well/4-2. I almost can't even watch ESPN and NFL Network anymore. I still remember Deion's "Rex Grossman is the best quarterback in the NFC East," statement like it was yesterday.

.) Enjoy the weekend and the game, HTTR!
