Rex Grossman is not a starting QB in this league. I'm not even sure he is a backup at this point. Good guy, like him personally but yesterday was a perfect example of why people are so down on him. 4 picks. All on him. No excuses this time. QB's have bad games at times. Hell Drew Brees threw 3 picks. But unlike other quarterbacks who have these types of games, Grossman has a POOR resume. He has had numerous games like this in his career. The Bears were able to survive him in 2006, because that were exceptional defensively and on special teams. We don't have that here in Washington. We have a average team that can be solid at times, as long as we catch all the breaks.
Grossman does not command the offense. His pre snap reads. Do you see them? Do you see a guy who can break down a defense, a guy who is fully aware of the coverages he is being shown? Does he utilize the snap count to his advantage? Is his accuracy consistent? Can he throw the ball down the field with accuracy? How about his decision making? Is it good enough to be considered NFL level? The answers to these questions are all NO. Its unfortunate because Grossman does seem like a good guy. But that's not good enough. Its not and never will be. THIS SKINS TEAM CAN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS IF THEY GET SMART MISTAKE FREE PLAY FROM THE QB POSITION. Our running game will be fine and our defense will keep us in it. But if we don't get a QB who can manage the game efficiently, will we FAIL to score points, and we get our asses kicked week in and week out.
