Latest Injury Updates for Eagles vs Redskins

Here's the latest, and according to everything I read, all the following Redskins have said they expect to play.

Redskins:

QUESTIONABLE: Armstrong, Buchanon, Hall (knee), Cooley, Hightower.

Eagles:

OUT: Jason Peters, Trent Cole
QUESTIONABLE:  King Dunlap (Tackle)
PROBABLE: Cullen Jenkins (tricep), DE Juqua Parker (ankle)

Dunlap missed practice again today with back spasms that the Eagles are hoping goes away over the weekend. If Dunlap can't go, that means the Eagles will only have two Tackles left on their roster:  Todd Herremans, the usual right tackle, and Winston Justice, who missed all of training camp because of offseason knee surgery hasn't played yet this year.

Herremans: "I know the technique. I know the steps I'm supposed to take," Herremans said. "It's just getting my body used to doing them on that side."

Good luck with that vs Rak. An Eagles related mini-slop after the jump.

Time for the pepto..

From what I’ve been reading..I feel like we are coming off the bye week with more injuries than we went on… Making me feel alittle uneasy…

Shannie always does this...

He likes for them to have to focus on several game plans for different packages. who knows..

The media predictions

seem sensible. Eagles are favored for good reason. They have an awesome offense, very likely to score about 30 points. Skins rarely score that many. And Philly needs this game a lot more than we do. In normal circumstances I’d rate the Eagles at most one or two points better than the Skins, so the home field advantage would make us a slight favorite. But I’d guess that the “must win” factor overcomes that. It’s certainly not hopeless – if we can run the ball and not make mistakes, we could win. The Skins should think of themselves as underdogs, who have to pull off an upset.

Thanks Washington media

I hope they all bet banned from Redskin park. Its a home game. The Eagles scored 16 points against the Giants. McCoy ran for 18 yards against SF. They scored 24 points against a Buffalo team in their last 4 games have given up 35,31,23,24. So when people watch the Buffalo-Eagles game, Buffalo always gives up points. The Eagles offense is a bit over rated.
Now lets see what they can do against the best defense in the East and on the road.

Here Here

I feel anxious about every game each season, but i am genuinly excited for this opportunity we have to step up and take over the division early in the season. i agree with every single one of your points above.

true, it is a must win for Filthadelphia but what makes you think added pressure and criticism this early for a team that hasnt geled and cant seem to get over funadamental mistakes?

its very telling that the majority of the national media is picking the skins, the public is split about 50/50, yet the skins own media and fans are skeptical and predict a loss….hmmmm, bracing for the annual collapse much?? Way to show your true stripes.

This organization has taken a step in the right direction, how long will it take to sway the local pundits? Looks like we will find out soon enough!

looong week

i neglected to finish my thought above….“what makes you think added pressure and criticism this early for a team that hasnt geled and cant seem to get over funadamental mistakes….” continued: “will somehow elevate them out of a 4 game losing streak and unbearable media pressure?”

The Eagles offense is a bit over rated.

I have to disagree with this. The biggest issue with the Iggles’ offense so far has been Vick’s turnovers/injuries. But Vick is healthy and that offense can score FAST. Vick, McCoy, and D. Jackson all dynamic players with elite speed.

O-line

It all starts up front. The Eagles have a lot of talent at the skill positions but the o-line is just awful. Therefore I have to agree that overrated is a good description of Philly’s offense overall.

by Art Vandalay on Oct 14, 2011 8:52 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

The problem is

Vick is just as, if not more, dangerous outside the pocket.

by VA_Skin on Oct 14, 2011 10:45 PM EDT up reply actions

Sure he is outside the pocket

he has no choice. The Giants have scored more points than the Eagles and the Skins held the Giants to 14. The Eagles giving up points is tied with Carolina for the most in the NFC. In their last 3 games the Eagles have scored 16,23,24. The only team the Eagles have actually beaten so far are the Rams. That’s quite an accomplishment.

Where is Ryan Harris when the Eagles need him most?

Oh yeah, he was CUT!

Didn’t some posters want him to become a Redskin?

Not to get into this again, but...

…he’d be cheap (coming off an injury), he’s played RT in a ZBS.

According to this very site’s home page, our OT depth reads as follows; Trent Williams, Jammal Brown and Willie Smith. At a guess, I would say Sean Locklear (listed as G) could play the position (shudder).

I’m sure the coaching staff are fully aware of Harris and his availability / rehab status (along with a few other OTs, I would imagine). I would hope so, as we’ve been re-eeaaaalllly lucky with injuries so far this season.

How the heck is Buchanon hurt?

He was suspended the first 4 games. Did he twist an ankle walking to Redskins Park?

by preppiejack on Oct 14, 2011 6:50 PM EDT reply actions

ENs - sorry - my memory failed me

A late injury report says Buchanan is questionable with a “sore neck”. Another just said “neck”. Philip himself says he wants to play, but it is up to Shanahan.

Buchanon is Questionable

due to the fact that he hasnt played football in 4 weeks. Shanny is just making sure he is in football shape.

I live an hour North of Philly.

I know a handful of Redskins fans around here among the congestion of Iggles fans. I went to a wedding two weeks ago on a Sunday, one guy at my table asked me to check the game scores on my phone. I said Eagles fan, His response, F* NO Redskins. Half hour later the same thing happened with another guy at the same table. Hah, what are the odds of that. The real moral of that story was who the hell has a wedding on a Sunday during football season?

by HogHunter on Oct 14, 2011 8:28 PM EDT up reply actions

Ah................the ole Allentown/Beth area I assume?

I grew up just outside of Scranton. I used to cover the entire NE(Philly up to Scranton) for my job.

As for weddings on Sundays, yeah man, that sucks. I was pissed that my wedding was on a PSU football weekend(eventhough it was just Akron).

You didn’t get married at Beaver Stadium? What kind of fan are you?

haha

I got married in CT, eventhough we were living in PA(wife is from there). Last year we decided to move to CT. We both hated the Scranton area, and she wanted to be closer to her family.

but that was because it was the Skins bye week. (I still thought it was stupid since their anniversary will be during the football season.)

Fuck the Eagles.

They are 1-4 for a reason, it’s not just 4 separate flukes being the reason they lost. Skins stomp them into a bloody pile of bad karma and bile…31-10!!!

"That's what she said!"

by iH8dallas on Oct 14, 2011 8:29 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

31 indeed

I wonder if we will ever have a final score of 31.

They are 1-4 for a reason, it’s not just 4 separate flukes being the reason they lost.

That makes sense. Its actually starting to look like their one win was the fluke.

I still feel we will win...

But like it or not DHall is one of our best cb’s and with Phillys deep threats…knowing he is suddenly hurting sucks…and leaves us with a hole in an already weak spot on defense..I thought it was odd Dan over at the NFC east blog on espn has eagles favored to win 23-21… He sees us being beat by the fg’s again…which…if we did lose…would make me feel a tiny bit better..fingers crossed .. Redskins 27-17

by BuzzBee on Oct 14, 2011 9:56 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

I think the Eagles should have won the Atlanta game - they outplayed the Falcons

but just threw away the game. The Giants did pound them. It looks as if they took SF too lightly and then couldn’t stop the run.

by Donnio1234 on Oct 14, 2011 10:06 PM EDT reply actions

this injury report

Definitely dampered my mood yesterday. Like it or not, we will need Hall to have a good game this week. He can’t keep up with Jackson on a good day, let alone on a bad wheel.

And the Cooley thing is upsetting. I was looking forward to him and Fred abusing those Philthy linebackers. CC will still catch some balls, but he won’t be his usual explosive self.

Their tackle situation would have me giddy if it were any other quarterback. But Vick will probably go into the game planning on leaving the pocket right away. Hopefully that will lead to Landry getting a solid hit on him. I’d like to see him get Jay Beagled.

Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Couldn't resist

That was awful. I was embarrassed. Latch was bitching that they wouldn’t let him back out because they were worried about a concussion, then Boudreau said it was no concussion. I don’t know who they’re fooling. He wasn’t coming back out REGARDLESS. That was a pride thing.

Again

will Kyle go with the strength of the team (ie the running game) or is he willing to show off his ‘OC’ skills againgst the Philly D, and let Rex beat them through the air…..

We shall see!

Views from the outside....

As a Giants fan with a major interest in this game I will be honest in saying I’d rather see you guys win instead of Philly despite the standings. If you can get a lot of pressure on Vick with Kerrigan and Orakpo, especially if you force him out of the pocket to his right, you will find that stopping Philly’s “dynamic” offense is not that hard. Desean Jackson is feast or famine. If he doesn’t get a big play going deep or off of a slip screen, he is AWFUL. Maclin and McCoy are their biggest threats and if you can slow them down, you win by a blowout.

On offense, I REALLY hope your OC doesn’t try to get cute and let Grossman try to be Aaron Rodgers. Any of your 3 RB’s can torch this overrated defense. Their DB’s like to try and gamble, especially Assante so hopefully you can exploit that. Nnamdi is great in man to man coverage but hasn’t adjusted to Philly’s zone schemes yet so don’t be afraid to throw at him.

Good luck tomorrow and hopefully the Patriots can help us both out too.

i think this will be our best game of the year on both sides of the ball

players and coaches remember the monday night game last year… this is a pay back game. even if vick plays mistake free. i think we win by at least ten points. if the eagles play like they have the first 5 games then we might beat them by 21+
