Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

What to look foward to next season

Anthony Bryant, can he become a starter at the Nose Tackle?

Bryant has become a beast the last two games at Nose Tackle. Within the last two games Bryant has played better than Maake Kemoeatu could ever play this season.

Ryan Torain, will he be the starter at Running Back?

Torain drafted by Shanahan in Denver has become a great addition to the team at the running back position. Clinton Portis has had been plagued by injury again and can be on his way out of DC.

Kevin Barnes, can he play Safety?

Barnes has showed that he can play safety. In opinion the free safety position is still up for grab. Why not start him along side Laron Landry?

Santana Moss, will he be back?

Moss is in the last year of his contact. The Redskins should resign him and needs to upgrade the position by adding another big time threat. Redskins can draft a WR or pick up one through free agent.

Who will be the Quarterback next season?

With McNabb being benched he is unlikely to come back next season. Rex Grossman in the last three games has played good, but he is not the quarterback of the future. Redskins must draft a quarterback. Cam Newton is the best quarterback to run Shanahan offense. Will the Redskins trade up to get him?

in quick response

Anthony Bryant, can he become a starter at the Nose Tackle?

He has played like a beast – but that shouldn’t stop the redskins from taking a lineman in the first round – guys like phillip daniels and vonnie holliday are a little “long in the tooth”

andre carter will be 32 as well

Ryan Torain, will he be the starter at Running Back?

The day after Shanahan got the job I blogged asking where the heck this guy was – I was excited when he came in, and he’s shown that he can be a starter – that drive in the first half yesterday by him was just fantastic – the only think is can he stay healthy – and can we find a REAL “take it to the house” felix jones/jamaal charles/Run DMC/ etc etc second back that has legit speed who can break 30/40/50 yard runs consistently

Kevin Barnes, can he play Safety?

I’m not sold on Barnes – I’ve played Safety all my life – and I am against moving a corner to safety, while it might work from time to time it is rare. Being a corner and being a safety take 2 completely different skill sets.

If they do leave him there – he needs a lot more work, and another 20 lbs

Santana Moss, will he be back?

sorry :) i got trigger happy on the post button

Santana Moss, will he be back?

Moss will be back – if he’s not it’s a shame.

Who will be the Quarterback next season?

I don’t think McNabb will be back – however I’d like to see him, or him with another player packaged for picks -

there are plenty of players on this roster that a worth a considerable draft pick – i.e. Albert, Carlos, McNabb

Tennessee, Minnesota, Arizona are all LEGIT destinations

Macho Harris
Stephon Heyer
Reggie Jones

Mike Furrey is definitely out.

He’s the Head Coach at some D-II Football program.

Anthony Bryant, can he become a starter at the Nose Tackle?

Certainly worth investigating. I guess I’d trust the coaching staff to evaluate his potential and our needs

Ryan Torain, will he be the starter at Running Back?

I think so. He’s not going to lead the league in rushing, but he’s a great example of how you can have a good running game w/o investing high draft picks or big money in a RB

Kevin Barnes, can he play Safety?

Interesting question, sure be nice if he could

Santana Moss, will he be back?

I think so. He’s still very effective, especially in the slot. For $2-4M a year I’d want him back.

Who will be the Quarterback next season?

Grossman for ~6 weeks, then a rookie

Will the offensive line(that has been playing well as of late)

stay intact next season? Or will their be major turnover to this unit.

Don't ever let failure get you down. Remember, a very successful major league hitter failes 70% of the time.

you know

Trent Williams will def. be there – i feel like the Interior of the line needs work the most that’s where the pocket always seems to collapse

AB starter at NT? – I thought he did last two games. Yes absolutely. What a find.

Ryan Torrain at RB – No. Don’t think he can stay healthy, but run him til he can’t and get him some better OLs.

Kevin Barnes @ Safety? No. Trade Taco Rogers and let him work corner. I thought he was hands down better than Moore(who has to go). But he hits people and bounces off them. Here is one for you.. what do we do with Doughty? He has played really well at strong. Trade?

Santana Moss back? Sure. who wants an aging midget to be a 3rd receiver and why would he do that? We can get a #1 reciever and he would be 2 and Armstrong 3. Thats a freaking good tandum for Grossman to almost get the ball too.

QB next season. Leave grossman there.. get two OLs for McNabb. Gibbs won superbowls with some really average QBs, but oh yeah.. they had arms. But then again K Shahanashittyhan doesn’t believe in stretching the field because grossman can’t.

My thoughts

Anthony Bryant, can he become a starter at the Nose Tackle?
Very likely. He has looked well in the games he started. I like seeing my DL in the backfield.

Ryan Torain, will he be the starter at Running Back?
I think he can. He has looked great running the ball. With a better OL he could do even better. We still need a better 2nd back as well though.

Kevin Barnes, can he play Safety?
Maybe. If he puts some weight on and gets better tackling technique I like him there. He hasn’t looked aweful at the position and I think he can only get better. But if we lose Mr. Rogers maybe he should just move to CB and we can find another FS.

Santana Moss, will he be back?
Hope so but we definately need a bigger WR as well.
Off topic but I liked seeing Terrence Austin playing instead of crappy Roydell Williams had 2 pretty good catches. Should have been using him more long ago.

Who will be the Quarterback next season?
Probably Sexy Rexy. Not saying it’s because he is that great but WHO ELSE. I don’t want to throw a rookie behind this OL right away. Need a rookie behind him though.
